One of the funniest things you hear from radical leftists is that real communism or socialism has never been tried. According to them, we've never seen real communism or real socialism. We'd be living in a Utopia if only we were brave enough to truly try it.
Of course, it has, and on many different occasions, and it's failed every single time. It cannot succeed because, as I've highlighted more than once, the issue isn't for lack of trying; we're just incompatible with it as a species. Our immediate focus on our tribe — whatever form that takes — doesn't allow for that macro level of concern.

The "hasn't really been tried" excuse is, ultimately, the way the radical leftists try to keep the obvious at bay. Communism and socialism are, at their very core, failed systems, and if the normies figure that out, then one of their primary selling points as radicals gets flushed down the drain, and their entire reason for existence becomes irrelevant.
The "That wasn't real communism/socialism" argument works overtime to keep the radical left alive. Eventually, it will die; it's just a matter of when, not if.
But we now have a new arrival to the "That's not real X," and it has come in the form of the West's embrace of Islam.
If you haven't seen them before, I've been reporting on the hilarious discovery of Islam by Western AWFLs, and how they're "converting" to the religion en masse because... well, it's just the new way to signal your virtue. Of course, as they begin sinking themselves into the warm embrace of the religion of Allah, they're finding out that what's embracing them are societal handcuffs.
Needless to say, they aren't taking it well, but instead of abandoning Islam, the AWFLs are doing what they do best: nag and demand until they get what they want.

But, perhaps not surprisingly, there are Muslim men in America who are going along with it. They can see the abuse women suffer under Islam just like everyone else can, and they understand just how oppressive it can be to everyone, especially the fairer sex, but when you're attempting to culturally infiltrate and spread like a weed in the West, it doesn't do you any favors to say, "Yes, that's exactly what's in store for you, Karen."
So Islamists, with full cooperation from the left, are now doing to Islam what the left did with communism, with "That's not the real Islam."
Case in point: Watch this clip from the latest Caleb Hammer video. As you can see at the beginning, the AWFL convert used to be Catholic, but she has now converted to Islam, and she describes it as the "most feminist religion" in the world.
Hammer, as is his way, argues the fact that it's very much not the case, only for the Islamic couple to respond with what is effectively the "Islam hasn't actually been tried" argument. In fact, they call Islam's abuse of women a myth developed by the media, which is also an insane thing to say, seeing as how the Western legacy media has gone to insane lengths to make Islam look like a "religion of peace."

To be clear, I don't know if the man in this video knows he's lying. He may be young enough that he's being misled by his own Imam into thinking that what he's seeing overseas in countries where Islam has taken absolute control isn't the "right way" to practice the religion... but I doubt it. I think he knows good and well what religion requires of him when it comes to the treatment of his wife.
In fact, there is another clip from this same episode where the man kind of acknowledges just how little the wife's testimony actually means. He acknowledges this with a sheepish nod to his wife. Of course, he denies everything else Caleb points out, including the fact that he's permitted to beat her — and that if she reverts to Catholicism, he is required to kill her according to the Quran.
I think Islamists are well aware of how awful Islam is to women, but they're trying to sell it to the West and have it infect our culture until they can destroy it from within, and the best way to accomplish that is through the most idiotic part of our society, and that's leftist women.
So, we have Islamic men chuckling about and denying what the Quran says in black and white, so that the delusion can be maintained by Western leftist women who are, themselves, mostly doing this to seem like they're more progressive than the person they're next to in any given situation.
