I think at this point we can safely assume a few things about the situation in Iran.
Iran has held the belief that it can act out, fund terrorism, kill indiscriminately, and generally be an antagonistic force in the world. The reason they believed that is because the United States has given them a reason to. Former presidents have treated Iran much like a spoiled child that acts out. Instead of taking a firm hand and giving it boundaries it just gave it whatever it wanted in order to placate it.
This includes dropping off pallets of cash in the middle of the night as the Obama administration did, which probably funded the very missiles that were used on Tuesday night.
For the first time in a long time, Iran is up against a president that is making it clear that he’s not screwing around and he’s definitely not going to capitulate. He won’t just sanction you, he’ll kill you with an honest-to-God smile on his face over ice cream.
Iran watched it happen to its prize General, Qassem Soleimani. A man so powerful that he has fingerprints were on almost every terrorist attack in the region for decades. He was nicknamed a “puppet master” by our own media.
And President Donald Trump wiped him off the board with a wave of his hand. For Iran, it was a horrific day of horrific loss that would be felt for years to come. For Trump and the rest of America, it was Friday.
Iran isn’t just bloodied, it’s embarrassing. Soleimani was the embodiment of power and America killed him with the flick of a switch. They needed a way to seem like they were tough, not just to the world, but to their own people. They needed to do something drastic and begin generating a narrative on their own state-controlled media, and that’s exactly what they did.
As my colleague Bonchie pointed out earlier, the more we look at this missile strike, the more it’s clear that Iran is done.

While Iran’s ballistic missiles are about as accurate a Star Wars stormtrooper, it appears more and more like these missiles weren’t for the purpose of killing Americans. They were a show of force that would make it seem like they had done serious damage, but in reality not do anything that would actually send Americans into a state of complete military action.
They then call it “self-defense” and then proclaim they aren’t seeking an escalation to hostilities.
If you kicked the crap out of someone who had been bullying you and upon having their ass kicked thoroughly, jumped up and threw down a smoke bomb while running away and screaming threats, it would pretty much equate to what Iran just did.
What does this mean?
It means Trump won.
This is great news for Americans and, indeed, the world, but not so much for two parties. The first is Iran who now looks incredibly weak to everyone but its own people, or at least, any of its own people that believe government reports.
The second is the American left, which clearly has a bad day when Trump has a good day.
Earlier today, I wrote how Iran and the media’s interests were aligned and that both wanted to see Trump fail and that remains largely true.

Both have a vested interest in Trump being thrust out of office. Both would regain power if that did happen.
In the grand scheme, however, it’s sick that these two entities have become allies, but in the left’s case, in order for it to become the enemy of Iran’s enemy, it has to first turn on the interests of its own country.
It has to make a show of mourning the death of a General whom they have to pretend was slain unfairly and in cold blood. It has to promote the outpouring and mourning by the people for the general in order to make this seem more like a tragedy than a victory. Then it even has to make excuses for the missile strike against Americans to make it seem like it’s a defensive act.
So far we’ve seen Elizabeth Warren try to dance around calling Soleimani a terrorist. We watched former Obama advisor Ben Rhodes tell us all sorts of things from how this entire strike was our fault, to how we should be focusing on climate change instead of peace through strength.

We’ve got Nancy Pelosi pretending like the attack was provoked by Trump even though she knows damn good and well that the strike on Soleimani wasn’t just legal, it was in retaliation for the attack on our embassy.
Closely monitoring the situation following bombings targeting U.S. troops in Iraq. We must ensure the safety of our servicemembers, including ending needless provocations from the Administration and demanding that Iran cease its violence. America & world cannot afford war.

You’ve got actors and activists like Michael Moore and Rose McGowan out here begging Iran not to harm us in the name of striking back at Donald Trump.
The left can’t call it the victory they know it is because doing so would mean they not only acknowledge Trump handled the situation exactly as it should have, he did so far better than any Democrat administration could have dreamed of.
And that’s one more bruise they’re going to have going into 2020.
