If Democrats were hoping that Joe Biden wasn’t a part of the woke crowd, then they’re sorely mistaken. The former VP is just as buried in identity politics as the worst of the left.

During a speech on Tuesday, Biden recalled his time during the Clarence Thomas hearings when, like the Brett Kavanaugh witch hunt that preceded it, Democrats attempted to prevent Thomas from achieving a seat on the Supreme Court by wheeling out Anita Hill, who claimed Thomas had sexually abused her.

Biden tossed out his Democrat bonafides by reminding everyone that he opposed Thomas’s confirmation, but proceeded to tell everyone that the reason Hill wasn’t believed was that the panel that questioned her were all white men.

This led Biden to his conclusion. In order for this nation to get better for everyone, white man’s culture has to go, because it’s to blame for the abuse of people such as women.

“I realize I get a little too passionate about this sometimes, but we all have an obligation to do nothing less than change the culture in this country. Not just the laws, we changed laws — change the culture. The culture,” said Biden.

“You all know what the phrase rule of thumb means? Where it’s derived from? In English common law, not codification or common law, back in the late 1300s, so many women were dying at the hands of her husbands because they were chattel, just like the cattle or the sheep, that the Court of Common Law decided they had to do something about the extent of the deaths,” he continued. “So, you know what they said? No man has a right to chastise his woman with a rod thicker than the circumference of his thumb.”

“This is English jurisprudential culture a white man’s culture,” said Biden. “That’s got to change it’s got to change.”

Of course, it shouldn’t escape anyone that the subject of the witch hunt was a black man, and that the culture that Biden described as a “white man’s culture” has indeed changed, and beating your wife is highly frowned upon, whether you have a stick or no.

Biden is, at the end of the day, a panderer just like the other 2020 Democratic hopefuls that are feeling the pressure to take radical stances like this in order to stay relevant. Interestingly enough, most Democrats were putting their faith in Biden because he appeared to be more moderate than the crop of radicals popping up.

It looks like they were sorely mistaken.
