Early Sunday morning, a man opened fire at a bar in Austin, TX, leaving three dead and over a dozen more wounded. The damage, significant as it was, would have been much worse had local law enforcement not responded to the scene almost immediately. In the end, Senegalese immigrant and Muslim Ndiaga Diagne was identified as the attacker, and speculation as to his motive began immediately.

On that front, he was wearing a shirt that said "Property of Allah" on it, a clear nod to Islamism being behind the shooting. A Quran was also recovered from Diagne's car, further pointing authorities in that direction.

While the timing of the attack certainly implied a connection to the recent bombing campaign of Iran's Islamic regime by America and Israel, that wasn't immediately clear when the shooting was first reported. New evidence seems to have confirmed that, though. According to Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis, underneath Diagne's "Property of Allah" shirt was an Islamic regime-era Iranian flag along with a picture of now-dead Ayatollah Khamenei. Fox News' Bill Melugin shared a picture of the flag on social media.

Diagne first came to the United States in 2000, overstaying a tourist visa. While illegally in the country, he married an American and was given legal residency in 2006 despite his previous transgression. In 2016, he allegedly hit a woman while driving recklessly in New York City, leaving her with serious injuries. This is a man who was given chance after chance in the United States, and he repaid that by killing people in the name of an Islamist dictator.

It's unconscionable. It's likewise a direct indictment of our immigration system and how abused it has been over the years. Someone who overstays a tourist visa and resides legally in the United States should not be given legal status at any point. There should be consequences for blatantly violating the law. There weren't, though, and the results were devastating. It's unlikely that Diagne is going to be the last attacker in the vein either. Islamism is a scourge on civilization, and the number of adherents to its radicalism currently on American soil is no doubt in the thousands.
