FBI Director Kash Patel put out a statement on Thursday detailing what they've learned about the shooter who opened fire on an ICE facility in Dallas. Perched on a nearby rooftop, Joshua Jahn hit three detainees, killing two of them. Because of the long range, the lack of lighting, and the fact that he shot into the tinted windows of two government-owned vans, it appears that he believed he was shooting at ICE agents.

That assumption is backed by the fact that an unused round was found with "Anti-ICE" scrawled on it, along with the obvious reality that he targeted an ICE facility.
Now, we are learning more about the shooter, and despite the left's attempt to pretend his motive was some grand mystery, the evidence is painting a clear picture.
@FBIDallas and FBI HQ have been working 24/7 to seize devices, exploit data, and process writings obtained on location and in the subject's person/residence/bedroom. This @FBI is committed to providing timely updates, as promised:

- The perp downloaded a document titled "Dallas…
- The perp downloaded a document titled "Dallas County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management" containing a list of DHS facilities.
- He conducted multiple searches of ballistics and the "Charlie Kirk Shot Video" between 9/23-9/24.
-Between 8/19-8/24, he searched apps that tracked the presence of ICE agents.
- One of the handwritten notes recovered read, "Hopefully this will give ICE agents real terror, to think, 'is there a sniper with AP rounds on that roof?"
- Further accumulated evidence to this point indicates a high degree of pre-attack planning.
The big tell there is the shooter's use of apps that track ICE agents and the fact that he wrote a note expressing his desire to cause terror to ICE agents specifically. Regarding the former, Republicans have warned about the dangers of such apps, while Democrats have shrugged their shoulders, with some major press outlets even highlighting their existence. There is no reason to track ICE officials except to intervene in their lawful duties or to attack them. That's been obvious since day one.
As for the note, it's not ambiguous. It's not meant to be "ironic," which is the new left-wing cope anytime one of their ideological allies commits an act of domestic terrorism. This shooter wanted to terrorize ICE agents and have them always thinking in the back of their mind that someone might be on an adjacent roof ready to fire.
Still, many on the left keep trying to muddy the waters. Take the following as an example.
ICE shooter Joshua Jahn's politics aren't what's being reported, three longtime former friends tell me.https://t.co/IhD9zgF8sc

It's worth noting that the journalist in question tried this same gambit with Tyler Robinson, the man who shot Charlie Kirk. This time around, he cites three anonymous "friends" who claim Jahn was really into video games and an "irony guy." Of course, if you keep reading, you'll find that all those friends stopped talking to the 29-year-old shooter back in college. That years-long gap in contact makes their judgments and opinions on what his current ideology was rather irrelevant.
Outlets like MSNBC and CNN have also done the "we may never know" act in relation to the motive, which is typical anytime a shooter is so obviously on the left.
MSNBC says it's "too early" to know the motive of the shooter who had "ANTI-ICE" written on his bullets.

She then demonizes ICE, saying they are "nabbing individuals and tossing them into unmarked vehicles."

Fmr. ICE director under Obama, Sarah Saldana, says the motive of the guy who shot up an ICE facility is unclear: "I would not jump to any conclusions just yet. And, and, I'll tell you just my experience & I'm sure the experience of most of your viewership is that there is no… pic.twitter.com/MNE5F8ydC4

Once again, these people are left with egg on their face, with the epidemic of left-wing violence impossible to obfuscate. Democrats have been accusing ICE agents of being the "Gestapo" while demanding the agency be disbanded. They didn't pull the trigger, but their deranged rhetoric and veiled threats wrapped in an obvious permission structure to attack "fascists" certainly played a role in this shooting.
Worse, they continue to double down, either directly or by pretending we don't know what this shooter believed. We know what he believed because he literally wrote a note telling us.
