My thoughts about Jake Tapper holding all the information in his book until after the election aside, there have been some very damning revelations about Joe Biden's health and those who covered it up. At the very least, getting Democrats to admit what those of us in conservative media have been saying for years holds value. Tapper has also gone on record to apologize to Lara Trump, for example, after he previously scorned her for pointing out Biden's obvious mental failings.
With that said, I'm going to try to put aside my feelings on the CNN host's obvious attempt to cover his own backside for a moment and instead focus on what he's saying. Which leads me to the biggest question surrounding everything we've learned over the last several weeks of new quotes and sourcing: Who was in charge?
The answer? Hunter Biden was essentially the president.

If you've been reading RedState, this will come as no surprise, though again, it's good to see increased sourcing on the matter. Hunter Biden was everywhere over the last two years of his father's term, even allegedly accompanying him into classified meetings. There was a real sense that he was leading Joe Biden by the nose, operating as his primary handler, including holding decision-making power.
Tapper also went after Hunter Biden personally, calling him "provably, demonstrably unethical, sleazy, and prone to horrible decisions."

COURIC: "Tell me how you really feel."

Welcome to the party, pal. The rest of us have been saying this for years because it was so obvious. Hunter Biden's track record was one of weaponizing his father's influence to rake in cash while cheating on his taxes and abusing women. None of that is new information. So yeah, I'm happy Tapper is finally admitting all this, but he really should have been saying this stuff before the 2024 election. That he didn't showed a willingness to help cover for the Bidens.
Hey, I said I would try to put aside my feelings about how Tapper handled this information. I didn't say I would succeed.
Back to Hunter Biden, it's incredibly revealing that no one within the administration had the moral fortitude to blow the whistle on this. You had a crack addict making decisions for a senile president, and not even that was enough for Karine Jean-Pierre, Jake Sullivan, or anyone else in the White House to speak up. Biden surrounded himself with some of the worst people imaginable. His cabinet and Kamala Harris should have invoked the 25th Amendment, but they put their pursuit of power over the country, and that's a huge scandal.
It goes without saying that there needs to be a massive investigation into all this. Congress must put these people under oath and grill them about this cover-up. It's not the kind of thing that can be brushed aside just because Joe Biden is never president. If Democrats get away with this, as in they don't at least face harsh public scrutiny, then they'll feel like they can get away with anything, and they'd be right.
