Some will call this a distraction from the Wuhan virus pandemic, but I don’t really care. This needed to be done.
President Trump took to Twitter this morning to announce that he’s not going to allow Iran to harass our Navy anymore. This comes after the Iranian Navy, which appear to be fishing charters with machine guns mounted on them, encircled U.S. ships with their guns in an active position last week.
Here’s some video of that brazen move.
And here’s Trump’s tweet sharing the order he says he gave.
I have instructed the United States Navy to shoot down and destroy any and all Iranian gunboats if they harass our ships at sea.

No doubt this will have all the former Obama administration members who constantly shill for Iran wetting themselves. I can just imagine Ben Rhodes sitting as his computer right now furiously thinking of a response. It’s coming, you just know it.
All of this is a call back to Obama allowing the Iranians to actually take our sailors hostage. Their punishment? Pallets of cash and a “deal” that allowed them to pursue nuclear weapons with near impunity. Of course, because Obama could do no wrong, that was called leadership and widely extolled by the establishment class. All it actually did was rescue the Mullahs from an economic collapse and embolden their aggression. That’s put us in the current situation that must be dealt with.
I’ve been saying for months that it’s time to go ahead and sink Iran’s navy. There’s little downside. What are they going to do? Have their proxies attack us in Iraq, something they are already doing? Sometimes you just have to punch the bully in the mouth and dare them to react. Iran has shown a penchant from understanding that lines can’t be crossed as long as the U.S. is willing to draw those lines.
In short, while this move by Trump will no doubt be decried by the usual suspects, it’s the absolutely the right one to make given the circumstances.
