The Perpetually Offended crowd is out in force once again, this time suffering from bouts of hysteria over the meanest, nastiest, most offensive joke ever made on television. The unbelievable transgression was delivered on Saturday Night Live by comedian Shane Gillis during his opening monologue last weekend, and, warning, you might want to sit this one out.

You see, he said some scantily clad ladies look like… I can’t even type it; we’ll just say, the “W” word.

Also, I haven't been to the gym in so long. I didn't know women just dress like whores now? Look, I'm sorry there's no other way to describe...

Have you seen it? I've seen the shorts. Have you seen the shorts? There's neon, they're, like, the only, they're, like, artificial bait colored. The wrinkles, the wrinkles go, like, around the cheeks and all combine at the b***hole.

And don't look, you're not allowed to look. For real, don't look, 'cause they are filming. I'm in the background of, like, 10 TikToks right now.

Now you might not think that bit is particularly funny, or that it’s in poor taste. But is it cause for a five-alarm outrage fire? Although there was a moment I might have been uncomfortable, I admit I also laughed. Comedy is supposed to make you uncomfortable, and great comedians always push the edge.

Here’s the thing: gym rats of both sexes like to flaunt their bodies (if they’re good, anyway), but it’s also true that staring at women is not usually welcome in the health club. You may think likening females who wear barely-there outfits to the dreaded “W” word is a step too far, but should it really be enough for actor Dan Levy to melt down? We may need to get him some more Kleenex.

Note to Dan: Your show was called Schitt’s Creek.

Poor Dan:

“Women wearing short shorts to the gym does not make them whores. It makes the men calling them whores misogynists. There’s a difference there,” the “Schitt’s Creek” star argued in an Instagram Reel shared Sunday, referring to comments the comedian made during the sketch comedy show.

“By the way, I’ve seen more men’s nipples at the gym than I’ve ever seen women showing their bodies off. I’m speechless that something like that can exist on live national television.”

Community note: Gillis did not call them whores. He said some of them looked like them. But Levy wasn’t done emoting:

Levy, 43, went on to say that “more men need to be standing up in opposition” to the behavior.

“It’s complacency that has created the environment with which women are sexually assaulted and it’s a conversation opposed to a crime. Men need to be defending women more,” he continued.

“This is not a women’s issue, this is an everybody issue. Because the more that men objectify women in the media, the more that other men see them as objects and treat them as objects. They are not objects. They are superior human beings to men.”

Women are superior human beings to men? Now that’s actually offensive, and objectively stupid. Also remember that it’s folks like him who think men should be playing in women’s sports. Way to protect the ladies, Leftists.

Some in the Hollywood crowd jumped in to get their clicks, including rapper Flavor Flav, who regularly uses the “N” word:

“Thank you dan❤️,” Hannah Einbinder commented, with Elizabeth Banks adding, “Nailed it.”

“THIS Thank you!” Elaine Hendrix wrote, while Flavor Flav added, “💯.”

Meanwhile, former SNLer Ego Nwodim posted a gym mirror selfie captioned “whore reporting for duty.” RedState’s Buzz Patterson wasn’t all that freaked out, though:

Maybe it was funny, maybe it wasn’t — depends on what makes you laugh. But was it really worthy of yet another distraught meltdown by the Left? Perhaps Levy just wanted to get some attention, because he hasn't exactly made many headlines recently.

But I think a whole lot of people are just tuning out these leftie dramas these days; they’re all style and no substance.
