As my colleague Kyle Becker reported on Monday, the diary of the former Chief Medical Advisor to President Biden, Dr. Anthony Fauci, showed a disturbing level of mutual admiration between himself and CNN anchor Jake Tapper. The diary entries were released by Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), one of the most prominent voices calling for Fauci to face the music, in the lead-up to the doctor’s testimony scheduled for Wednesday in front of the Senate Homeland Security Committee (which Paul chairs).
Expect that hearing to be lit, as Paul has long charged that Fauci misled the country over the Wuhan Virus and is loaded for bear.
Tapper, who tries to claim he plays it straight on his newscasts, attempted to rewrite history with his noxious book Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again. The fact that Tapper himself was one of the chief architects of the cover-up left him looking like a two-faced hypocrite.
Jake has egg on his face once again with these new revelations — but he’s far from the only one. Would it surprise you to know that CNN’s Dana Bash and Wolf Blitzer, former Meet the Press host-turned-podcaster Chuck Todd, and ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos were also high-profile members of the St. Tony Fan Club, even as he was dishing out misinformation like an industrial machine and reveling in his power to shut down the country?
Were supposed mainstream journalists reporting the story neutrally, or did they put their thumbs on the scale? The answer seems pretty obvious, according to Fauci’s own endlessly self-congratulating diary:
CNN’s Dana Bash sent Fauci a text message in April 2021 after a contentious House Select Subcommittee hearing over COVID-19, according to the diary. The CNN star complimented Fauci and informed the doctor that her CNN colleague also picked a side.
"Dana Bash sent me a text: ‘I just watched the whole [Judiciary Committee Chair Jim] Jordan [OH-4] thing. Again, you’re a better man than I …. As our friend Wolf Blitzer said to me yesterday — no one would have blamed you if you said simply ‘Mr. Jordan, go f--- yourself,’" Fauci wrote.
Tapper and Bash went on to moderate the CNN Republican Presidential Primary Debate between then-President Biden and President Trump in 2024.
Not to be outdone was the hopelessly biased Chuck Todd, who also became a leader of the “Suck Up to Fauci” cheerleading squad:
Fauci also had a texting relationship with then-NBC News host Chuck Todd.
"I had a really nice conversation with Chuck Todd this morning. He had texted me to ask what I thought of the interview yesterday. I told him that I thought it was absolutely terrific, but I wanted some advice from him. I asked him whether he thought that I should pull back from publicly defending myself against the slanderous attacks since that might call more attention to them," Fauci wrote.
Another journalist friend was @chucktodd. The two had what Fauci’s diary calls “a really nice conversation” in June 2021 after Fauci said the lab leak was a “preposterous” “conspiracy theory.”

Who else was involved in the cabal that pretended to be reporting straight news while actually shilling for the Good Doctor and his falsehoods? None other than former Bill Clinton operative and now ABC News host of This Week, George Stephanopoulos. Remember, ABC had to fork over $15 million after George incorrectly avowed that Donald Trump had been convicted of rape.
He was all in. “So impressive,” he worshipped:
Fauci also revealed that ABC’s George Stephanopoulos texted him following an interview on "Good Morning America" in July 2020. Apparently, Stephanopoulos was impressed that Fauci dismissed a mean tweet from Trump.
"Thank you, Tony. So impressive," Stephanopoulos wrote, according to the diary.

But wait, there’s more — NBC News’ Andrea Mitchell also had a thing for The Fouch:
Meanwhile, Andrea Mitchell celebrated July 4, 2020, by offering a mea culpa to Fauci, who believed the White House was limiting his TV exposure.
"Andrea Mitchell called my cell very apologetic about not being able to have me on the show since they already booked a couple of governors who were giving exclusives to NBC. I mentioned to her my concern about them keeping me off the air. She was shocked and thought that when I did not come on after requests that it was because I did not want to go on a show," Fauci wrote.
The diaries present an astonishing level of collusion, cooperation, and mutual love between Fauci and the old-guard, dying media, even as he turned out to be wrong on oh-so-many things. Instead of bringing America the truth, they were far more concerned with propping up Biden, Fauci, and CA Gov. Gavin Newsom's despotic “Branch Covidian” cult.
Whenever you hear the phrase, “You can’t hate the media enough,” remember one thing: you can actually hate them just a little bit more.
