Vice President JD Vance appeared on multiple television talk shows Tuesday to promote his new book, “Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith,” which describes his 2019 conversion to Catholicism. Many pundits also viewed the appearances as his opening salvo for a possible 2028 presidential campaign.
After taking on the harridans of ABC’s nauseating gabfest “The View,” Vance turned to friendlier waters and stopped by Fox News’ #1 rated late-night show, “Gutfeld!”
Although there were plenty of laughs to go around (Gutfeld: “Did We Sign the [Iran] deal because the new ayatollah is gay and we wanted to focus on Pride Month?”), the VP spoke powerfully about a fundamental difference in the modern era he currently sees between the Left and the Right in this country.
Simply, there are those who love our republic and those who don't:
"What really does bother me is that they don't show gratitude for the United States of America."

"What really does bother me is that they don't show gratitude for the United States of America."
VP JD Vance blasted Democrats serving in public office during an appearance on @Gutfeldfox, arguing that too many spend their time criticizing the country rather than appreciating it.
Vance said he was raised to love America and be grateful for the opportunities it provides, calling patriotism a core value that shaped his upbringing.
He contrasted that outlook with what he sees from many on the left, saying a lack of appreciation for the country has become increasingly common in American politics.

Vance was masterful in pointing out that it’s not policy differences that are roiling our country. It’s not that we disagree on adding this to the budget, or cutting funding on that, or coming to an understanding on economic measures. No, it’s much deeper — and much more troubling:
So I think this is a very, very bad thing...
And to make a bipartisan point here — the Republican VP trying to be bipartisan — I was raised by patriotic Union Democrats who maybe wouldn't have agreed with every single policy of a Republican administration, but they recognize that this is the greatest country in the world, and every single one of us should be grateful to live here.
It’s not about the nuts and bolts, he argued, it’s something much more profound:
And I think that is the fundamental problem.
Greg, it doesn't bother me when congressional Democrats disagree with our policies. It bothers me, like, that they're just terrible people, so many of them. But what really does bother me is that they don't show gratitude for the United States of America. Disagree with our policies, but if you don't feel grateful to live here and for the people who made it possible, then what are you even doing, being in public service?
Too many Democrats don't show appreciation for the country.
Boom — he hit the nail on the head. Leftists don’t love America, even as Europeans visiting for the World Cup are discovering its majesty. Indeed, the polls have the numbers, and a new NBC News survey shows that only 29 percent of Democrats, compared to 90 percent of Republicans, are “proud” of their country.
My advice to those Democrats: move to another country and find out how you like it. Most likely, you’ll be crawling back like so many of your woke, uneducated predecessors.
Although “Gutfeld!” is a political comedy show, Vance eloquently highlighted one of the fundamental challenges we face as a country: how do we move forward when so many bitter leftists who have no understanding of world history and how great we have it here simply hate the whole notion of the United States?
There’s only one real answer to this scourge: smash them at the ballot box.
