Tina Peters is free.
The 70-year-old former Colorado elections clerk was released Monday following Gov. Jared Polis’ May commutation of her nine-year sentence on felony charges for her role in breaching the county's election voting systems and equipment in 2021. She was concerned that there were irregularities in the 2020 presidential election, where Joe Biden received a mind-bending 81 million votes despite campaigning mostly from his basement.
She was worried that Dominion Voting Systems machines had potentially been compromised.
Naturally, the Left was outraged by Polis' commutation of her sentence. Keep that septuagenarian who allegedly committed a non-violent crime behind bars, they cried in unison:
Peters, a Republican, was convicted in 2024 of several felonies for allowing fellow election deniers access to local voting systems in search of voter fraud following President Donald Trump's loss in the 2020 election. She was sentenced to nearly nine years in prison.
On May 15, Polis, a Democrat, commuted her sentence to four-and-a-half years and said she would be eligible for parole in June.
Polis has faced criticism from his own party for the decision. On May 20, the Colorado Democratic Party's central committee formally censured the governor after nearly 800 Democrats, including elected officials, candidates and organizers, signed a formal complaint with the state party over Polis' decision.

Although the mainstream media constantly refers to her as an “election denier,” and many Democrats portray her as the personification of evil, it was nice to see a Dem actually speaking up for free speech and against prosecutorial overreach:
In an interview with 9NEWS' Kyle Clark, Polis said he commuted Peters' sentence because he felt she was oversentenced for expressing inaccurate, but constitutionally protected views.
"She committed a crime. What's an issue here is how long the sentence is," Polis said. “I agree with the appeals court that in the sentencing hearing, the judge incorrectly looked at and considered her bizarre viewpoints, her speech, and held her speech against her.”
Doesn’t sound like your typical “you’re all the devil’s spawn!” modern-day Dem.

God Bless Tina Peters, who is now, for two years out of nine, sitting in a Colorado Maximum Security Prison, at the age of 73 [she’s actually 70], and sick, for the 'crime' of trying to stop the massive voter fraud that goes on in her State (where people are leaving in record numbers!). Hard to wish her a Happy New Year, but to the Scumbag Governor, and the disgusting 'Republican' (RINOL) DA, who did this to her (nothing happens to the Dems and their phony Mail In Ballot System that makes it impossible for a Republican to win an otherwise winnable State!), I wish you only the worst.
