A New York judge ruled Monday that some crucial evidence in Luigi Mangione’s murder trial will be allowed — but he also ruled that some key items were inadmissible because authorities unconstitutionally searched the accused killer’s backpack.

It’s confusing, to say the least: A search of the backpack when he was captured violated his rights, but a later search didn’t? Whatever you say, judge:

A New York judge has ruled that some key evidence seized from Luigi Mangione's backpack during his arrest at a Pennsylvania McDonald's is inadmissible at trial, while some of it can still be shown to jurors, including the suspected murder weapon.

Judge Gregory Carro's written ruling was posted online ahead of a hearing Monday morning. He agreed with the defense argument that a search of Mangione's backpack at McDonald's was unconstitutional because it had been moved away from arm's reach, however, he found that a subsequent search of the bag at the police station was lawful. During that search, an officer found the handgun allegedly used in the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, 50.

He also found that most of Mangione's statements to police in Pennsylvania would be admissible, except for some made about his alleged fake ID after police read him his Miranda warning.

🚨 NOW: The judge has just ruled IN FAVOR of assassin Luigi Mangione by SUPPRESSING evidence the cops found inside his backpack

Utter madness.

  • The jury will NOT learn about:
  • Bullet magazine
  • Cellphone
  • Passport
  • Wallet
  • Computer chip

TOTALLY OMITTED from the jury.

The judge says the Mangione was ILLEGALLY searched because they took his bag after the shooting without a warrant.

The gun and diary will still be allowed in trial evidence.

Evidence that the judge did allow: the gun, a 3D-printed silencer, and a red notebook that allegedly contains Mangione’s twisted musings.

No Capital Punishment for Luigi Mangione: Key Federal Counts Dropped in UnitedHealthcare CEO Case

Mangione has become a leftist hero since he gunned down a father in cold blood in December 2024 because he didn’t like that he was a healthcare CEO. Never mind that he had never met the man, UnitedHealthcare chief executive Brian Thompson, or had any business with the company; to the Left, the then-26-year-old University of Pennsylvania grad showed true courage.

If you don’t believe that extremists have resorted to outright demon worship these days, these disgusting ladies showed up at the courthouse to serve as a reminder. Profanity alert:

Mangione has pleaded not guilty to all of his numerous charges in both the state and federal cases against him. Unfortunately, he does not face the death penalty in either case (a judge threw out the charge that would have brought that into play in the federal case, while New York state unsurprisingly no longer has a valid death penalty law).

Mangione could very well spend the rest of his days staring at concrete walls, however. If so, we’ll see how heroic he feels in about ten to twenty years.

The state trial is expected to commence in September, while the federal proceedings are scheduled for January 2027.
