Back to the 12th Century: Iran Holds Public Execution for Star Wrestler After Kangaroo Court Trial

We’ve seen the utter disregard for human life shown by the Iranian regime as they slaughter tens of thousands of their own civilians in the streets. We’ve seen how they indiscriminately lob missiles at any country they can hit, even regional powers like the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, who have often been sympathetic to them.

On Thursday, they put on a brutal scene that even Game of Thrones writers might have viewed as barbaric. For the crime of protesting, a champion wrestler was put to death in public in an effort to cow the populace and remind them that even the slightest resistance will be met with your painful demise:

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s judiciary on Thursday ignored a U.S. State Department warning along with pleas from elite Iranian-American wrestlers to not execute 19-year-old champion wrestler Saleh Mohammadi for protesting against the Khamenei regime.

Reports say Mohammadi was killed in a public hanging seen as a barbaric move by the Iranian regime to snuff out the ongoing movement seeking to topple it, according to Iranian American human rights activists and dissidents.

Saleh Mohammadi wasn’t the only one; two other men were also killed. They were charged with murder, but since we can’t believe a single word that comes out of the remaining mullahs, those charges are highly suspect.

Iranian state news agencies announced Thursday morning the execution of three protesters detained during the most recent wave of demonstrations. According to reports, Mehdi Qasemi, Saleh Mohammadi, and Saeed Davoudi were arrested on December 18, 2025.

Iranian state media had alleged that the three acted against national security and were designated as "Moharebeh" (enemies of God – a capital charge under Iranian law), a label the regime has repeatedly applied to protest-related cases. The criminal court in Qom Province was at the center of the controversy after sentencing Mohammadi to death by public hanging in Nabut Square in the city, on a charge of "premeditated murder," according to a report by Iran International that was corroborated by additional outlets.

Said human rights activist and Iranian wrestling expert, "His [Mohammadi’s] execution was a blatant political murder, part of the Islamic Republic’s pattern of targeting athletes to crush dissent and terrorize society, as seen with Navid Afkari and others executed despite international outcry."

Although he was given a trial for supposedly throwing a Molotov cocktail at an officer and then stabbing him, he and numerous family members maintain that he was at his uncle’s house. There is no video footage to prove that he was at the scene. He was not allowed to use his own lawyer but was provided one by the state, the court used witnesses whose identities “were not disclosed,” and Mohammadi said he was coerced (tortured) into a false confession.

In other words, a mockery of justice.

Iran will continue to terrorize its own citizens, providing yet another reason — as if we needed one — for why the world will be a much better place when they are exterminated.
