We all saw it — the horrific moment when Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk was assassinated, allegedly by 22-year-old suspect Tyler Robinson. It was an instant in time that will live on forever in anyone unfortunate enough to witness it live or on television, and it marked yet another low point in the Left’s descent into political violence and domestic terrorism.
Now the cowardly suspect and his lawyers want to banish cameras from the courtroom because they feel it might prejudice his case. They've already made other moves to shield their client: In late October, Judge Tony Graf of Utah’s 4th District Court granted Robinson’s request to wear civilian clothes but ruled that he would still appear in restraints.

Charlie’s widow, Erika, feels strongly that cameras should be in the courtroom, and she delivered some powerful reasons why in an interview with Fox News host Jesse Watters. The full interview airs Wednesday, but in this preview, she notes that neither she nor Charlie was afforded privacy or were shielded from cameras during their darkest moments:
"There were cameras all over my husband when he was murdered," she told Fox News' Jesse Watters in an exclusive interview. "There have been cameras all over my friends and family mourning. There have been cameras all over me, analyzing my every move, analyzing my every smile, my every tear. We deserve to have cameras in there."

“Why not be transparent? There’s nothing to hide. I know there’s not, because I’ve seen what the case is built on.”

She continued:
"Why not be transparent?" Kirk continued. "There's nothing to hide. I know there's not because I've seen what the case is built on."
"Let everyone see what true evil is," Erika Kirk added. "This is something that could impact generations to come."
One hundred percent on target.
I agree with Erika! 💯

Do you agree? Or should cameras be banned? pic.twitter.com/I1YUd8s0eL
There are legitimate legal reasons why Robinson’s lawyers would be arguing against cameras in the court — ensuring a fair and unprejudiced trial, first and foremost—but on an emotional level, at least, it’s hard to argue with Erika’s heartfelt points. She wants to “Let everyone see what true evil is.” One way to defeat evil is to bring it out into the light, expose it, force the unbelievers and the sycophants to confront just what — and who — it is they’re glorifying, whether it be the cold-blooded murder suspect, Luigi Mangione, the twisted wanna-be assassins who tried to kill Trump, or Tyler Robinson.
Robinson’s next court date is scheduled for January 16, 2026, although the judge could rule on the camera issue sooner than that. RedState will keep you apprised every step of the way.
