Just When You Thought That WI Brewery Owner Couldn't Get Any Wackier, Now He's Running for Gov.

There have always been leftists who oppose Republican presidents. But as is usually the case, Donald Trump is special. He appears to have broken the Democrat Party for sure. But because he is not worried about reelection, he is enjoying a kind of freedom where he does not have to examine his every word and deed. It drives the left crazy and is glorious to watch. But at least for the next three years, never think the left can't get any crazier.

Minocqua Brewing Company Owner Doxes Secret Service After Free Beer Day Flop

On Sunday, Wisconsin brewery owner Kirk Bangstad announced on Substack that he has entered the race for Governor in Wisconsin. If Kirk Bangstad's name sounds familiar, he recently offered free beer at his establishment in the event of Donald Trump's death. His announcement read in part:

I’m running for Governor because I believe Wisconsin needs a battle-hardened fighter to join the rest of America to save our Democracy from Trump’s regime, and that person doesn’t exist in the crowded field of Democrats currently running in Wisconsin’s Gubernatorial primary.

Bangstad also commented on social media after shots were fired at the White House Correspondents' Dinner on April 25, which Trump and many of his Cabinet members attended. That's where he posited this gem:

Well, we almost got #freebeerday. Either a brother or sister in the Resistance needs to work on their marksmanship or he faked another assassination to get a positive news cycle. We’ll never know. Regardless, we stand at the ready to pour free beer the day it happens.

You have to love it when leftists refer to themselves as "the resistance." They somehow see themselves as the French resistance against the Nazis in WWII, fighting for a "noble" cause or something. But Bangstad's social media rant has apparently shown him to be too nuts even for Wisconsin Democrats. He posted:

The messaging mistake [State Rep. Francesca] Hong made, as well as [gubernatorial candidate Mandela] Barnes and the rest of the Corporate Democrats, spilled progressive blood into the water that created a feeding frenzy against me, my fiancé, and my company. Trump’s propaganda machine and the corporate media that continuously fails America with its cancerous 'bothside-ism,' came after me with full force; and that led to me being interrogated and intimidated by the FBI and the Secret Service. After those two agents left my taproom on Thursday night, I told my lawyer Fred that I was going to run for Governor. Since I couldn’t trust the Democratic Party to have my back nor the current slate of gubernatorial candidates—and because I have a social media reach that dwarfs them all—I might as well stand up for myself and the rest of the working class, who I’ve been standing up for with my loud voice for the last 6 years.

Damn, it would be an absolute shame if everyone stopped buying beer from Minocqua Brewing Company since owner Kirk Bangstad offered free beer in the event of Trumps death!! Obviously this guy is a lunatic!!

This is not Bangstad's first foray into politics. He ran for Congress in 2015 and the Wisconsin state assembly in 2020. He also formed the Minocqua Brewing Company SuperPAC. Surely, there are enough rational Wisconites who know guys like Kirk Bangstad put their state in grave danger of becoming another New York or California of the Midwest, or Illinois 2.0.

Bangstad also appears to be a living example that, for the left, politics pervades every aspect of their lives. For instance, just a few of the names of the beers brewed at the Minocqua Brewing Company include "Resistance Pilsner," "Tammy Shandy," named after Wisconsin Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D), and my personal favorite, "Bernie Brew."

Bangstad needs 2,000 signatures by June 1 to qualify for the November election. Leftists love free stuff, so if he is still advertising free beer, he will likely get them.

Senator @TammyBaldwin has also failed to condemn this celebration of political violence.
