A breaking report has exploded this afternoon on the Justice Department (DOJ) being set to announce that it is opening an investigation into allegations by several women that Eric Swalwell, the former California congressman and Democrat gubernatorial candidate. commited acts of sexual assault or sexual misconduct against them.

On Saturday, the Manhattan District Attorney's Office announced it has launched an investigation into a sexual assault allegation against Rep. Swalwell, according to multiple outlets:
The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office said on Saturday it is investigating an allegation of sexual assault against Rep. Eric Swalwell, a day after CNN reported that a former staffer for the congressman accused him of having sex with her when she was unable to consent.
In a statement to CNN, the DA's office said, “We urge survivors and anyone with knowledge of these allegations to contact our Special Victims Division at 212-335-9373.”
It continued: “Our specially trained prosecutors, investigators and counselors are well-equipped to help you in a trauma-informed, survivor-centered manner.”
