Missing Scientists, Classified Programs, Advanced Tech: Congress Demands Answers Now

Where are all our scientists going? A startling number of key scientists, some of whom are working on some very sensitive projects, have suddenly gone missing. It's a troubling situation.

Republican Representative Eric Burlison (MO-07) is looking for answers. In a Fox News interview over the weekend, Rep. Burlison expressed his concern. Watch:

Rep. Burlison: Yeah, it’s remarkable. General McCasland apparently walked out of his home, left all of his devices, and never came back. And Monica Reza—she was on a hike as well and mysteriously disappeared. Then I’ve heard about others. We already sent a letter when our first one came in—I heard of it. Another gentleman—I’ll keep that name to myself out of respect—we sent the letter to the FBI investigating the suspicious suicide. We have another individual who had worked alongside whistleblowers like David Grusch and Jake Barber, and his colleague is mysteriously committed suicide. We’ve already sent the letter to the FBI to investigate that, and that is an ongoing investigation. So these are other things—we’ll probably reach out to the FBI to see if they have anything going on on this, and if not, then we’re gonna ask them to do that.

It's odd, to say the least.

There are a number of reports of scientists going missing, of suspicious suicides, and so forth. From what information is available, the Congressman is right to be concerned. At least six key scientists from the American aerospace and defense fields have died unexpectedly or have just disappeared in recent months.

In less than a year, six scientists and researchers tied to high-level projects have either died or gone missing, raising questions but also prompting experts to urge caution over unverified claims.

The cases span from mid-2025 to early 2026 and involve individuals connected to agencies such as US Air Force Research Laboratory, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and Los Alamos National Laboratory.

One of the earliest cases is Monica Jacinto Reza, an aerospace engineer involved in advanced alloy development tied to rocket engine technology. She disappeared in June 2025 while hiking in Angeles National Forest and has not been found.

Monica Reza's case in particular is suspicious

Every news outlet that covered this story ran the same framing: missing hiker, rugged terrain, please check your cameras. Standard template. What none of them reported is who she actually was.

Reza co-invented Mondaloy, a family of nickel-based superalloys now built into the engines replacing Russian-made rockets for American national security launches. She held the patent. She spent decades as a Technical Fellow at Aerojet Rocketdyne, the highest technical rank in the company. An Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. At some point after 2023, she moved to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

That matters because of what happened eight months later. On February 27, 2026, retired Major General William Neil McCasland walked out of his Albuquerque home and into the Sandia Mountain foothills. Left his phone. Left his glasses. Left his wearable devices. Took a gun and his wallet. He has not been seen since.

Speaking of General McCasland:

A retired Air Force general known in UFO circles has gone missing during a hike in New Mexico, just months after a former colleague disappeared in a nearly identical case.

US Major General William Neil McCasland, 68, was last seen on the morning of February 27 as he left his Albuquerque home with only a backpack, wallet and .38-caliber revolver for a trail run, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office.

Sources previously told The New York Post that McCasland was a 'gatekeeper' and 'participant' in the UFO community.

There is also the case of the Portuguese Nuno Filipe Gomes Loureiro, a plasma physicist, Director of the MIT Plasma Science and Fusion Center, who was shot in his home in Massachusetts in December 2025 by one Cláudio Manuel Neves Valente, also a Portuguese national. Valente was the alleged perpetrator of a shooting at Brown University two days earlier; Valente had attended the University of Lisbon with Dr. Loureiro from 1995 to 2000.

This is a disturbing pattern indeed. Sure, many of these people were known in UFO circles, but many of them were also involved in highly sensitive technological work - like Monica Reza, who was working in what looks to be some cutting-edge metallurgical development.

It seems very likely that these mysterious deaths and disappearances are the result of actors far closer to home, such as an unfriendly nation-state. An unfriendly power would have had no trouble inserting operatives into the United States at any time during the Biden administration, when border enforcement was essentially nonexistent. And if they so chose, anyone with the resources of a nation-state behind them wouldn't have that much trouble exfiltrating a captive from the United States if they wanted to; the United States is a big, big place, with thousands of miles of border, not to mention thousands of small airfields and ports; the possibilities are endless.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. Linking these missing scientists to any possible extraterrestrial intelligence strikes one as a distraction; for one thing, any intelligent beings with advanced enough technology to enable superluminal space travel wouldn't be interested in any of our primitive efforts. They would be no more interested in what we consider cutting-edge than we would be interested in an ant colony.

But China? That may be a possibility that's much more down to Earth.
