You've got to hand it to New York's bartender-turned-Congresswoman, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: She's consistent. Every time she opens her mouth - which she does a lot - something stupid comes out.

On Thursday, though, we learned that it wasn't a statement from the congresswoman herself that was stupid, but rather an act from her office. It seems her Congressional office has hosted a seminar advising illegal aliens on how to evade repatriation:

The "Know Your Rights With ICE" virtual event was broadcast live on Ocasio-Cortez’s Facebook page, where migrant viewers were informed of how to deal with ICE search requests if officers come calling to their homes or place of work.

Migrants were also warned of "ruses" they allege ICE agents employ to get people to comply with searches, while the hosts also touted "trends" in how ICE conducts its searches, which have ramped up in recent weeks under the Trump administration.

By "ruses," they of course mean "ways that authorities try to enforce the immigration laws on the books."

But wait, there's more!

"Just because someone ends up on ICE radar and ICE believes that they can deport someone, it doesn't mean that under the law the person can be deported or that they don't have the option to fight their case to remain in the U.S.," said Genia Blaser, of the Immigrant Defense Project a Manhattan-based non-profit. The group's stated mission is to combat the targeting of immigrants for mass imprisonment and deportation.

That's precisely what it means, "under the law." If a person is here illegally, they can be sent back from whence they came. Consider for a moment that Homeland Security and border czar Tom "The Hammer" Homan are focusing their efforts on gang members and criminals, and think about the implications of AOC's office in light of that. She is literally trying to aid criminals and gang members in their efforts to evade capture.

Now, perhaps AOC didn't take part in the seminar directly, although since it came from her office, she must have approved it, and presumably was aware of what was being presented ahead of time. But her Instagram account has also--separately--presented tips and tricks for people in the country illegally to evade capture.

Ocasio-Cortez did not take part in the webinar but did upload tips to Instagram – via posters in both English and Spanish – and called on her followers to share the posters widely and study them.

It's amazing this woman gets reelected. At every turn, she puts the interests of her constituents last. She denied the people of her district good-paying jobs at an Amazon warehouse, and now she is openly favoring not just illegal aliens, but illegal alien gang members and criminals, over the people of that district. That's unforgivable. That's a betrayal of the trust they misguidedly placed in her. In a sane world, she would have been sent back to her old bartending job after her first term, assuming she could get the job back.

AOC did take an oath of office, in which she swore to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States. Apparently, she doesn't take that oath very seriously. Who knows--maybe she had her fingers crossed.
