Is the Love Affair Over Between AOC and Her Constituents?

Some of you folks may hate me for saying this about AOC but I have to write down just how I view the world. So here it goes.

I think Alexandria Ocasio Cortez is just swell.

She is the perfect living breathing example of why the country is in the mire it is in now and a part of the reason I wrote this non-cheery post a couple of weeks back: Op-Ed: How Much Gas Does America Have Left in Her Tank?

Plus she can make you a strong drink to forget all the policies that she and her cohorts support that have helped make America less great.

Gal is truly a superstar.

So imagine my absolute despair when my colleague here at RedState, Bonchie, wrote a story about the possibility that AOC’s constituents were not in love with her as we all assumed. I was shocked I tell you, shocked!

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Held a Town Hall, and Things Got Very Spicy

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY) was booed off stage during a New York City town hall by attendees who were frustrated by the Democrat’s position on the looming debt ceiling issue, the border crisis, and the millions of dollars being funneled to Ukraine.

Hecklers shouted at the Squad member several times, telling her that she doesn’t put America first.

“American citizens before migrants,” one man shouted as he walked toward AOC holding small American flags. “Where are you on the migrant issue? You’re a piece of s—t.”

Multiple people attending the town hall in Queens held signs that read “AOC: an obvious criminal,” while another read “AOC: Stop pushing drag queen story hour.”

Another asked if the U.S. would do anything to stop the war with Russia, suggesting the country was on the brink of a nuclear war; she previously voted to send over $100 billion to Ukraine after suggesting she supported the idea of removing the debt ceiling.

AOC represents a deep blue district in a deep blue state so who are these frauds showing up and acting as though they care about issues that are important to America? They must have been part of some anti-anti-anti-progressive group trying to trick the mainstream media into believing that people in her district are sobering up.

Of course, I’m not buying it because she is dreamy.

However, some of you might not recall that Cortez did not win her seat against Nancy Pelosi’s fave Joseph Crowley in a general election fight but actually defeated him in a Democrat primary back in 2018. She snuck up on a lethargic Crowley, who assumed he was a shoo-in, and the former drink slinger upset him at the polls.

Pelosi has never forgotten that, and Cortez’s behavior after she was seated was a burr in the saddle of San Fran Nan for the rest of her time as Speaker. I touched on this in my article below from 2019.

The second part of Pelosi’s sudden jump to Impeach I believe was that Alexandria Ocasio Cortez the weekend before started to get lippy on Twitter. She accused the leadership of her caucus in the House of being worse than Trump.

According to the Washington Examiner …

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez declared her exasperation with Democratic leadership for their refusal to move forward with impeachment proceedings against President Trump as yet another controversy rocks his administration.

A two-month truce with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi cracked just before midnight Saturday when the freshman congresswoman from New York fired a volley on Twitter attacking her own party.

At this point, the bigger national scandal isn’t the president’s lawbreaking behavior – it is the Democratic Party’s refusal to impeach him for it.

So am I saying that I believe that Nancy Pelosi may try to garner some secret muscle to primary America’s sweetheart by capitalizing on some of the anger by Cortez’s constituents in her district?

Damn right, I am.

The one thing our side has totally underestimated about people on the left is that the progressive wing of the democratic party has a killer instinct that conservatives mostly lack. Nancy Pelosi was elected Speaker of the House back in 2007, had it ripped away from her in 2011, and hung on for almost a decade to get the gavel back. She is a stone-cold killer political assassin and you can hate on her policies all you want but you should study how she handles the game of politics.

If you name a Republican that has the same sort of moxie then I would love to hear about it and no, Donald Trump does not count because he didn’t fire Fauci and he hired Christopher Wray.

Nancy would have undercut both of those people and made sure she was baking cookies in front of cameras to have an alibi.

So if there is truly an uprising happening in AOC’s district she had better put her head on a swivel.

Even though Pelosi is no longer the Speaker she is still a member of the House and has a long memory. She didn’t like the kid giving her lip back when she was first seated and didn’t know where the bathrooms were on Capitol Hill and if this uprising Bonchie wrote about has any legs to it, Nancy will help push it along in a very stealth manner.

Luckily Cortez can always go back to slinging tequila sunrises and show people that “I Love Bernie” tattoo she is thinking of getting.
