There’s no motive being reported, at this time, but a woman apparently drove her car into a security barrier at the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue, near the White House.
She did not breach the barrier, but the concern was such that the White House was put on lockdown Friday afternoon.
The Secret Service released a Twitter thread to explain the events:
BREAKING: An individual driving a passenger vehicle struck a security barrier near the White House at 17th & E.

President Trump had just finished a joint press conference with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull at the time the incident occurred.
