Watching the Echo Chamber of former Obama officials, purchased experts, and rented journalists line up to insist that the United States do nothing to aid the demonstrators in Iran has a ten-car-pile-up-on-the-expressway quality. On the one hand, you are horrified at what you are looking at but that is combined with a fascination that keeps your eyes glued to the scene. For instance, the organizers of the pussy hat Women’s March have been strangely silent. They’ve gone from attacking a pale, pathetic, milquetoast imaginary patriarchy in the United States to running like scalded dogs from the chance to attack a hairy, wife-beater-wearing patriarchy in Iran. Linda the-hijab-is-liberating Sarsour has vanished.
One of the more surreal comments comes from former CIA director and #Resistance Godfather John Brennan:
With wholesale condemnation of Iran and nuclear deal over past year, Trump Admin squandered opportunity to bolster reformists in Tehran and prospects for peaceful political reform in Iran. Bluster is neither a strategy nor a mechanism for exercise of U.S. power and influence.

By talking down the Iran nuclear deal, Trump didn’t bolster the “reformists.” The “reformists,” if you haven’t been paying attention, is the Iranian government.

If the “reformist” line sounds hauntingly familiar, it should be:
This is even worse than it looks from Brennan. The U.S. defence and intelligence establishment knew full well the "moderates" in the Iranian theocracy were a political construction of Obama administration messaging to sell the #Iran nuclear accord. pic.twitter.com/rEXCXdVml9

This is the same cock-and-bull story they used to sell the Iran nuclear deal. If you read the Leon Panetta quote in the above tweet you’ll see that at no point did the administration actually believe there was a moderate wing of the governing clique.
Brennan: Trump sabotaged Rouhani.
Reality: Iran became more bogged down in foreign interventions & human rights violations since Rouhani won & even under Obama’s tenure. https://t.co/tWDRPtue9v— David Shor (@DYShor) January 2, 2018
These people are contemptible. Like the Bourbons (the dynasty, not the drink), they have forgotten nothing and learned nothing.
