TOP O' THE MORNIN'
Hilarious: DC Anti-DOGE Residents Find Out How Their Money Is Actually Being Spent
The Fox interviewer asked about the government spending $750,000 to determine whether it was "one small step for man" or "one small step for a man" in regard to the moon landing. What the heck? As the D.C. resident said, not just why would you do that, but how could you spend that much money on that question?
‘She Needs an AA Meeting’: Kamala’s Pep Talk at DNC Holiday Party Devolves Into Another Word Salad
They have nobody on their bench. They're stuck with a man with cognitive decline and a woman who makes him look intelligent by comparison.
ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith Nukes Democrats, Suggests Report on J6 FBI Sources Supports Trump's Claims
Smith is not, by any stretch of the imagination, a Republican. He leans hard to the left. For him to get red-pilled on the January 6th protest is an indication of just how badly the Democrats overplayed their hand on the matter.
WHAT'S ON TAP?
Today on Capitol Hill...
There's just one hearing set for Monday on Capitol Hill: The House Rules Committee meets in the afternoon to consider the Midnight Rules Relief Act, a bill that "allows Congress to disapprove multiple regulations under one joint resolution of disapproval if the regulations were submitted for review during the last 60 legislative days of the final year of a President's term. Currently, each joint resolution may disapprove of only one regulation."
One of the big discussions on the Hill this week will, of course, be funding the government via continuing resolution — a deal needs to be struck (and approved) by Friday. Look for lots of jawing on this.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will be making the rounds on the Hill to make his case as President-elect Donald Trump's Secretary of HHS. Keep an eye on that one as well.
White House What's Up
President Joe Biden will receive the President’s Daily Brief in the morning. Then, he will join Acting Secretary of Labor Julie Su for an event at the Department of Labor "to honor our nation’s labor history and the Biden-Harris Administration’s work to strengthen America’s workforce." In the evening, Biden and First Lady Jill will host a Hanukkah Holiday Reception, which Second (not a) Gentleman Doug Emhoff will attend.
Full Court Press...
In South Korea, the Constitutional Court will begin reviewing the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol.
On Friday, the court denied the requests of former New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez, his wife Nadine, and their co-defendants for an acquittal or new trial, though Judge Sidney Stein did agree that two of the counts as to Menendez and co-defendant Wael Hana were "multiplicitous," and thus they would only be subject to judgment on one of the two.
MORNING MUSING
I attended a Celebration of Life for a friend yesterday, gone way too soon, yet he lived a full life — one he managed to fill with love and light in spite of facing his fair share of adversity. He leaves behind a loving wife whom he'd shared life with since their late teens, as well as a daughter and two sons. His wife found the strength to deliver his eulogy — I'm not quite sure how, but she did. And as she did, I was as certain as I've ever been that he was there with us, as was God. I don't know how to say it any clearer than that. Their presence was unmistakable. I'm grateful for that moment and for the reminder to make the most of our time here.
