Even before last Friday's CR vote, Democrats were already in full-blown disarray, with no leader, no coherent counter-message to President Trump, and infighting galore amid a growing identity crisis within the party.
For instance, there was a significant backlash among some members over the disgraceful display put on by Democrats during Trump's joint address earlier this month, where House and Senate Democrats couldn't even be bothered to stand and applaud 13-year-old brain cancer survivor DJ Daniels and his dream of becoming a police officer.
Relatedly, far-left activists are said to be looking at Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) for leadership, with hopes of forming another political party in the near future that they believe could challenge the existing Democrat rank and file on Capitol Hill.

And now, after what some feel was Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer's (D-NY) betrayal on the CR, there are murmurings of a 2028 challenge to Schumer, with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) being mentioned as a potential formidable primary opponent.
But that's a long way off, and Democrat activists want action now, so much so that apparently Schumer has had to postpone his upcoming book tour dates, citing security concerns:
Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (N.Y.) has postponed his book tour scheduled this week in Baltimore, New York, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia amid an intense backlash from fellow Democrats over his controversial vote to advance a House Republican-drafted funding package that cuts deeply into non-defense programs.
A spokesperson for Schumer’s book tour said that it would be rescheduled due to “security concerns.”
The New York Times noted that activists have been staging protests outside of his home already and had been organizing similar protests for the book tour stops:
Many Democratic activists, desperate for their leaders to stand up to President Trump, have been staging protests outside of Mr. Schumer’s Brooklyn home and calling for his resignation. Online, they have been organizing protests for every stop on his book tour.
Schumer's book, “Antisemitism in America: A Warning," is set to be released on Tuesday. Some of the protesters on the tour would likely have been pro-Hamas agitators who his party has disgracefully made excuses for since the October 7th, 2023 Hamas terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians.
Among those who Democrats have stood up to defend include former Columbia University student Mahmoud Khalil, a student visa/green-card-carrying pro-Hamas demonstrator on campus who helped lead the antisemitic protests and eventual occupation of campus grounds after the Hamas attacks.
After Khalil was recently arrested and detained by ICE for possible deportation on grounds he was violating terms of the Immigration and Nationality Act, Senate Judiciary Democrats despicably stood in his corner, tweeting:

As for Schumer's opinion on Khalil, he's said he feels Khalil's actions are more for Columbia University to deal with than DHS and demanded DHS show their cards or be seen as allegedly violating his First Amendment rights.
Clearly, Democrats still haven't learned a single thing from November 2024. Not one thing.
