As we draw closer to 2024, the questions about President Joe Biden, 80, regarding his age and physical/cognitive fitness to lead this country only grow louder, especially when voters see concerning incidents like how Biden looked and acted out of it and lost during a joint public appearance Tuesday at the White House with Israeli President Isaac Herzog.
There was also Biden’s troubling recent overseas trip for the NATO Summit, where at various points he had to be physically moved around by some of the world leaders he was there to meet up with, including King Charles III and Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda.
On Wednesday, however, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, 83, swooped in all in an effort to save the day for Biden by trying to put the “age” question to rest during an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” program.
What Pelosi did, though, was to turn it into even more of an issue for our octogenarian president by essentially proving the point as only she can about how voters really should be very worried. Watch as Pelosi struggles to explain how Biden’s age doesn’t matter, inadvertently showing that his age (and hers as well) should indeed be a concern for the American people:
“I couldn’t be prouder of [Biden]. And, again, we’re very fortunate that he is in that position. Again, age is relative. I was in L.A. for some Democratic stuff recently, I met with [screenwriter] Norman Lear, who is 100 going on 101, who was telling me about some new shows he was involved in. I was meeting with Frank Gehry, a 90-something architect, showing me new buildings he’s building throughout the world. [On Biden] They were like, 80? He’s a kid. It’s relative – he’s younger than I am, he’s a kid to me as well.”
Far left co-host Mika Brzezinski, who last Friday went off in a rant where she practically begged Biden’s handlers to do a better job of hiding shielding him from public scrutiny, ate up every word Pelosi said, giggling towards the end:

At another point during the gush-fest, Pelosi laughably claimed that Joe Biden, who once angrily compared some Democrats in the Senate to segregationists over the issue of reforming the filibuster and who gave the infamous “red speech” back in September demonizing “mega MAGA” Republicans, “respects other points of view” and “honors the aspirations of children”:

I suspect the child whose arm Biden bizarrely treated like an ice cream cone might disagree with the last part of that assessment, but I digress.
Look, one would expect Pelosi to go to bat for Biden. They’ve worked together for decades, and not only that, but at her age it’s only natural to be defending her fellow Democrats who are on up there from suggestions that maybe it’s time they exit stage left.
But having Pelosi cheerlead for Biden and endorse him in part because of his age is not the win she thinks it is. If Republicans are smart (and that’s a big “if”!), they’ll use her comments against Biden come the 2024 presidential election, because considering how there have also been questions about Pelosi’s cognitive abilities (not to mention that at last check Pelosi was not a very popular public figure), her remarks could solidify in some people’s minds that it’s time for Joe Biden to be voted into retirement.

I rest my case.
