AOC Is Paged After 'Unhoused' NYC Man Charged With Hate Crimes for Pooping on LGBTQ Flag

In true Democrat “never let a crisis go to waste” mode, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) was one of the loudest voices on the hard left politicizing and racializing the death of 30-year-old New York City homeless man Jordan Neely almost immediately after the incident was reported by the media.

AOC alleged that the “houseless” Neely, who was subdued May 1st by multiple passengers on an NYC subway after allegedly behaving in an aggressive and threatening manner, was “murdered” by the 24-year-old Marine, Daniel Penny, who put Neely in what some have called either a “headlock” or a “chokehold.” Neely was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, and it was just announced that Penny has been charged by D.A. Alvin Bragg with second degree manslaughter.

“Killing is wrong. Killing the poor is wrong. Killing the mentally ill is wrong. Why is that so hard to say?” she wrote in one tweet, while in another she tweeted a link that tried to make the case that locking up the mentally ill was not the solution to the crime problem.

Her words effectively helped incite a “peaceful protest” which saw far-left wacktivists hit the streets in typical Antifa/BLM fashion, wreaking the usual havoc along the way in response to the death of Neely, who had over 40 arrests during his time as a Michael Jackson impersonator on NYC streets and subways including four for alleged assault.

Strangely, though, Ocasio-Cortez has been silent over the arrest of an NYC homeless man who is being charged with hate crimes… because he allegedly pooped on a restaurant’s LGBTQ flag and then used another to wipe himself with:

“This was a total hate crime,” the establishment’s owner proclaimed, while thanking the NYPD hate crimes division for working “so hard” to track down the alleged poop perp.

“If I’m asked to go to court, I’m going to press for the maximum charge possible,” the owner also stated.

Mr. Innocent, according to reports, sounds like one of those repeat offenders we often read about in the New York Post.

And while he definitely should have been charged over what he did, having an already stretched-thin law enforcement team devote valuable time and resources (which has been going on since mid-April) to track down a man and then arrest him for a “hate crime” that literally did not hurt anyone, especially in a place that has the serious crime problems NYC has, seems a bit over the top, in my humble opinion.

In fact, this is exactly the type of story AOC should be using her voice to speak out on, to declare that this man maybe is being overcharged and should be fined and serve community service but should not be put in jail. But she won’t, because AOC is beholden to the woke LGBTQ community. She’ll look the other way on this one, including even if the book is thrown at the perp with the “maximum charge” filed – as the undoubtedly woke restaurant owner wants, because it’s the politically expedient thing for her to do.

My RedState colleague Brandon Morse summed things up perfectly:

AOC is being so stunningly brave here that it just boggles the mind, doesn’t it?
