On the issue of Tara Reade’s sexual assault allegations, I did not think it could get any worse than the garbled answers Joe Biden has given the few times he’s been asked about her claims, including last night when he devolved into more incoherency when asked about the issue by MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell.

But Biden senior advisor Symone Sanders, who has been a staunch defender of the former VP in recent weeks as questions about Reade’s claims have become more unavoidable, gave probably the most non-sensical answer yet when she talked about Reade’s allegations in the context of the Democrats’ “Believe All Women” rallying cry that came to prominence during Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation hearings in 2018.

In an interview on MSNBC, Sanders declared “the reality is that this did not happen, this allegation did not happen.” She then went on to try and explain how you could still believe all women but not believe Tara Reade.

“Vice President Biden went on to say and continues to say that his knowledge that this did not happen has done nothing to shake his belief and his unwavering commitment that women deserve to be heard,” Sanders claimed. “Even in this case, women deserve to come forward and have their stories told, to have their claims taken seriously, and have them looked into. And at the end of the day what matters is the truth, and the truth in this situation is it didn’t happen.”

What. a. mess.

What makes her answer even worse is when you compare/contrast it to how she jumped on board the “believe Christine Blasey Ford” bandwagon in 2018, and treated people who disagreed with her as though they were garbage human beings. “There’s no enticements for her to come forward, and to have her life destroyed,” Sanders exclaimed at the time.

Daily Caller did a comparison of Sanders on the issue of Believing All Women in 2018 versus her stance now, and it’s pretty remarkable:

PJ Media columnist Jim Treacher summed up the new Biden/Symone Sanders position on this well I think:

RIP, #BelieveAllWomen.
