MSNBC's Chris Hayes Sees a Green New Deal Opening With Economic Stimulus Package, but Ted Cruz Would Like a Word

All levels of government are floating ways they believe will ease the financial burden now placed on American workers and businesses thanks to restrictions put in place due to the spread of the Wuhan coronavirus. Many people are already seeing reduced hours to no hours and businesses are being hit with massive revenue losses. There are employees who have been laid off or who will face layoffs in the days and weeks to come, and there are businesses that are facing permanent closure.

In the midst of all this, Democrats are in “never let a crisis go to waste” mode, with some, like freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), taking the opportunity to advocate for full-on socialism on a massive scale, because it’s been so successful in other countries before (not).

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes, too, thinks he’s found an opening to promote trillion dollar socialistic ideas that have nothing to do with helping America get through the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic. He apparently got the idea after seeing the price tag behind the various economic stimulus ideas being floated right now.

Now keep in mind that most of the things being suggested involve mandating an extension of paid leave, giving every American at least $1,000 a month, providing additional funds to states for unemployment benefits, providing aid to the small businesses who will be hurt the most by the economic downturn, extending the tax filing deadline, and other things like that, as Fox News’ White House correspondent John Roberts reported Tuesday:

Hayes took note of the $800 billion number, and made this brilliant deduction:

Yeah… no, responded Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX):

Math has always been a bit of a tricky, difficult subject for big Democratic spenders of other people’s money over the years (to say the least). But these last couple of weeks have provided some pretty solid and conclusive evidence that their math problems are only getting worse.
