Boom: The Babylon Bee Hits It out of the Park With Their Latest Hot Takes on the Transgender Issue

When it comes to the issue of “transgender equality”, I’ve worked my fingers to the bone in countering some of the absurd claims made by transgender rights advocates, as have many of my colleagues here at Red State and elsewhere.

But sometimes political satire is the best response in the face of national discussions on issues that seem so surreal that you can’t believe they should even have to be debated.

Such is the case with two recent takes by the Christian news satire site The Babylon Bee on transgender equality.

In a post from Monday titled “Left Vows To Topple Patriarchy By Allowing Biological Males To Dominate Women’s Sports”, the Bee writes:

Declaring that “the future is female” and that they would “no longer bow to toxic male faux-dominance,” Americans on the left of the political spectrum solemnly vowed Saturday to topple the Patriarchy once and for all by allowing biological males to dominate all women’s sports.

“The Patriarchy needs to be smashed, women need to be empowered, and men who identify as women need to be active in women’s contact sports!” one Portland LGBT activist told reporters. “Once every single female sport in America is utterly dominated by biological males who identify as women, the criminal hierarchy of men utterly dominating all aspects of life will be broken—this is not hard!”

In the second example, titled “Man Identifying As 6-Year-Old Crushes Game-Winning Homer In Tee-Ball Championship”, the Bee wrote:

Local 36-year-old man Nate Ripley, who identifies as a six-year-old, “absolutely crushed” a game-winning homer at a local tee-ball game and won the championship for his team Monday evening, reports confirmed.

[…]

Ripley’s feat comes at the end of a momentous tee-ball season, in which the self-identified six-year-old absolutely shattered every record set prior to that point. With a 1.000 batting average, 52 home runs, and an incredible showing at first base, second base, shortstop, third base, and pitcher, the man is being called an inspiration to other six-year-olds everywhere.

The point of each post is not to belittle transgender people, but to demonstrate the folly of pretending that so-called transgender equality can seamlessly co-exist alongside women’s equality. It can’t. It also demonstrates the slippery slope of falling into the trap of believing that people can identify as whoever and whatever they want to – and that somehow in doing so it makes it so.

Well done, BB crew. Well done.
