DSA Co-Chair Admits: Not One Dem Has Asked Her to Tone Down Calls to Abolish Senate, Presidency

For all the talk out there of supposedly moderate Democrats terrified of the socialist takeover within their party, concerned that extremists will hurt their general election chances, you'd think some in the party would be urging them to tone things down a bit.

That doesn't appear to be the case.

In a recent NewsNation interview, DSA Co-Chair Megan Romer was asked whether Democratic operatives had been calling on her to rein in the group’s more radical proposals.

Proposals she has previously outlined, which include abolishing numerous core institutions, such as the Senate, the Supreme Court, borders, and even the presidency.

"Democrats have to be calling you, right, and saying, 'Listen, love the energy, love that you're getting these new voters, love that you're getting us back in the blue-collar business. It's great, it's great," host Chris Cuomo said. "'But just, you gotta relax a little bit with the abolish this and get rid of that.'"

"It sounds radical, it sounds like you want to destroy our Constitutional Republic," he added.

Romer's answer was straightforward and a little stunning — not a single phone call asking her to ease up has come through. Not one.

Ro Khanna Admits Democrats Opened the Door to Socialist Takeover - And That They Shouldn't Close It

It sounds like Democrats are trying to portray themselves publicly as valiantly attempting to stave off the extremists while simultaneously giving them a wink and a nod in the background.

This does track, however. Democrat Rep. Ro Khanna (CA-17) recently discussed the growing influence of Socialists within his party with Fox News host Shannon Bream.

"I’ll tell you why they’re winning. People are upset at an unfair political and economic system," he explained.

"The Democratic Party needs reform. Look, this is a party that hasn’t delivered enough for working-class Americans," he added, refusing to push back on the radical agenda.

Perhaps next time the media puts out stories like this one in The Hill, contending that Democrats privately fear the ramifications of the DSA surge within their party, it's best to read it with a fair amount of skepticism.

“You now have to argue to voters that you aren’t insane when you want to talk about making groceries cheaper,” Democratic strategist Steve Schale said, according to the outlet.

He was responding directly to Romer's initial interview outlining the DSA platform.

Hard to argue that you're not insane when your top officials refuse to distance themselves from those dishing out the insanity.
