Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent was interrupted during a private dinner at a restaurant in Washington, D.C., when Code Pink activist Olivia DiNucci stood up in all her ignorant glory and delivered a mock toast, accusing him of overseeing deadly U.S. sanctions.
DiNucci claimed the administration's policies constitute "economic warfare" and cause hundreds of thousands of deaths annually, prompting boos from Bessent and other diners.
“We want to make an announcement! We have a special guest here, and we want to make a toast for the Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessent!” she said after tapping her wine glass. "So let’s give it up for the man who is eating in peace as people starve across the world based on his sanctions, which are economic warfare.”
You have to hand it to DiNucci. You can't teach this kind of weapons-grade buffoonery. It's an innate skill one is simply born with.
As the boos came fast and furious from the patrons who wanted nothing more than to enjoy their dinner, the flustered Code Pinker (Marjorie Taylor Green's new friends) fired back.
“Of course you’re going to boo this. It’s the truth!” she said. “He oversees the deaths of 600,000 people due to sanctions annually.”
Bessent calmly raised his glass and made his own toast: "You are ignorant. And you don’t know how ignorant you are.”
That's what we in the biz call evergreen content, not just for Code Pink, but for the vast majority of liberals. So proud of their ignorance were the group that they posted the video on social media under the assumption that they looked good during this confrontation.

Appearing on Fox News' "The Ingraham Angle" shortly after, Bessent described the incident as a "setup" and accused the restaurant owner of being in on the heckling. You can see in the video above that he tries unsuccessfully to get the restaurant staff to do something about the individual(s) who are clearly ruining everyone else's dinner.
The efforts are to no avail, meaning the restaurant is essentially endorsing the behavior and letting others know that if they have a beef with one of their customers, they are free to wreck their night. Not exactly the best business model.
The Treasury Secretary outed the restaurant and basically said, 'Meh, the food kinda sucked anyway.'
"They were booing that deranged woman, who clearly, her dad didn’t pat her on the head enough when she was younger. So now, the rest of us have to live with this," he told Ingraham.
"I wasn’t that sad to be interrupted because the food wasn’t very good at the restaurant, and it was also clear that the restaurant owner was in on it with her. It was a setup," added Bessent. "So, don’t worry, restaurant's called Revelers Hour, and we’ll be having MAGA night there sometime in the next month. We hope everybody will show up for that."

What kind of tool behaves as this woman did? What happened in their childhood that makes them wake up every day and plot how they can just be a complete asshat to people in public?
Bessent earned some praise last month when he calmly walked up to a group of protesters heckling President Trump outside a restaurant and began filming for his own amusement.
The man is a legend. But one bone of contention here, Secretary Bessent. Hold MAGA night at a restaurant that doesn't hate half of America.
