What HHS Just Did to Biden Health Official Rachel Levine's Portrait Was Pretty Ballsy

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) quietly updated the official portrait of former Biden-era Assistant Secretary for Health, Adm. Rachel Levine.

And it's sparking some outrage. Mostly from Levine.

Levine, who was born a biological male but is transgender, which, in former President Biden's mind, was some sort of qualifying factor for a high-ranking sub-Cabinet role, saw the nameplate reverted to his birth name.

"Richard L. Levine, M.D.," the portrait, sitting in the Humphrey Building in Washington, D.C., now reads.

A spokesperson for HHS confirmed the name change in a statement to NPR, citing concerns about the accuracy of the admiral's name. They also took a jab at the former Assistant Secretary for Health's harmful policies.

"Our priority is ensuring that the information presented internally and externally by HHS reflects gold standard science," HHS spokesperson Andrew Nixon told the outlet. "We remain committed to reversing harmful policies enacted by Levine and ensuring that biological reality guides our approach to public health."

As Pennsylvania's Secretary of Health in 2020, Levine issued a directive similar to that of former New York State governor Andrew Cuomo, directing nursing homes to accept COVID-positive patients. This, despite moving his own mother out of a nursing home.

Levine later admitted errors in the reporting of COVID deaths.

That was of little concern because, boy howdy, the folks at the White House at the time could nominate Levine for a senior-level appointment and get this tragic collision of DEI pseudo-qualifications crammed into one photo.

Levine, under Biden, would go on to try to normalize sex change treatments for children, saying any restrictions on them were being enacted "specifically for political and ideological purposes."

Fortunately, that national embarrassment has ended. And the portrait has been corrected.

One guy who is particularly upset with the official portrait name change is one Richard Levine, who told NPR the move was an act "of bigotry" against him.

Levine went on to say he was "not going to comment on this type of petty action."

It's not the first time the Trump administration has created some noise with official portraits from the Biden administration. President Trump was beyond pleased with himself after swapping out Biden's own picture with an image of the autopen that actually ran his presidency.

Sometimes reality hurts.

Biden was as much the actual President as Levine is a woman named Rachel.
