FBI Director Kash Patel revealed new details in the case against Charlie Kirk's alleged assassin, Tyler Robinson, including information about a chilling note he allegedly wrote before the shooting.

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox (R), during an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press" on Sunday, insisted Robinson was "clearly" motivated by leftist ideology and had been radicalized by taking a deep dive down the "dark corners of the internet."

He also pointed out that investigators were examining a potential note left by the suspect.

"Fox & Friends" co-host Brian Kilmeade asked Patel about that note.

Patel paraphrased it, alleging it read something along the lines of, "I have the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I'm going to take it."

The Director went on to say the note had been destroyed, but they found forensic evidence of its existence and had confirmed the substance of the message through "our aggressive interview posture at the FBI.”

Patel also laid out some of the evidence they have against Robinson, including DNA matches on a screwdriver and the towel that was wrapped around the weapon used to murder Kirk.

"I can report today that the DNA hits from the towel that was wrapped around the firearm and the DNA on the screwdriver are positively processed for the suspect in custody," he confirmed.

Kirk, just 31 years of age, was fatally shot in the neck while speaking at a Utah Valley University event. He had been participating in his wildly popular open-dialogue debate series with college students, part of his “American Comeback Tour.”

According to authorities, Robinson jumped off a roof and fled the campus shortly after the shooting. He then dashed through a wooded area into a nearby neighborhood, discarding the towel-wrapped firearm in the woods.

While a motive has yet to be ascribed, evidence, including messages on shell casings, shows Robinson was radicalized by extreme leftist rhetoric heard online and in mainstream media coverage of conservatives.

The left-wing media conglomerate has furiously tried to rewrite that narrative, even going so far as to suggest that the killer's upbringing suggests a conservative slant. But reality and facts, according to Patel, are a hell of a valuable tool in debunking those claims.

"His family has collectively told investigators that he subscribed to left-wing ideology, and even more so in these last couple of years," Patel said. "He claimed that he had an opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and he was going to do it, because of his hatred for what Charlie stood for."

"Those are factually accurate investigatory findings by the FBI that we've handed over to the local authorities and the federal authorities."

Robinson, who pulled the trigger on the fatal shot that killed an American icon, did so as Kirk was answering a question related to transgender shooters. It has since been learned that the killer was allegedly living with a transgender partner.

That individual is reportedly cooperating with the investigation. It's unclear whether Robinson's partner saw the note mentioned above or why, if so, they did not report the chilling message before the shooting.

Investigators are also analyzing whether radical online groups were aware of the plot to assassinate the Turning Point USA founder ahead of time.
