Here is the second entry, looking back over 2025 and cataloguing the craziness we experienced in this distinctly obtuse year. As things progressed, we did not see a calming mood come across the country. Instead, things just continued to unravel, and many in the American population became resigned to the fact that we are living in an era of craziness.
So strap in, and we will now look at the second half of the calendar as we experienced it.
JULY
Alligator Alcatraz was opened in South Florida, and the media frenzy was unhoused as a result. Reports emerged that the mosquitoes were the size of elephants, and the detainees were suffering from frigid conditions. In Florida. In a swamp area. In the summer. The Miami Herald alone covered the opening of the facility and its first day of operations 200 times in a span of a few weeks. (In summary: They opposed the facility.)
In Texas, storms delivered flash floods that took dozens of lives. Also meeting a demise were the claims by NPR that it is a vital emergency notification source, when it was discovered that the affiliate in the region had never delivered any flood notifications until the morning after the crisis had developed.
CBS finally agreed to a settlement in Donald Trump’s lawsuit. The internal rage renewed as staffers complained they might have to begin delivering accurate news.
PBS and NPR became officially defunded, and many began crowing about the fact that massive amounts of donations flooded in. Those declaring this a victory against Trump failed to grasp that this was exactly the result many called for in place of sucking up tax dollars.
Soon after the CBS settlement announcement came the news that Stephen Colbert would not have his contract renewed. Widespread accusations were made that the Trump administration forced this move, despite an abject lack of evidence. The claims were more asinine when it was revealed his show loses tens of millions a year. And as the insistence was that Colbert was canceled over Trump criticisms, he remains on the air until next summer, and spews anti-Trump monologues nightly.
Tulsi Gabbard released a trove of government documents regarding Russian collusion, implicating those behind the deceptive narrative, including Democrats and the media. After years of obsessive coverage, the press saw this release as something not worthy of their time.
The claims that Trump urged Paramount to fire his critics were completely unwound when the company signed the creators of “South Park” to a new contract worth $1.5 billion. They promptly came out with hyper-negative episodes on the president.
The national media had another meltdown of historic proportions – over a commercial for blue jeans. Sydney Sweeney was likened to a white supremacist. For selling jeans. Some went so far as to accuse the ad of promoting eugenics. For selling jeans. As a result of this social outrage, American Eagle saw its market cap explode by hundreds of millions of dollars within weeks.

Zohran Mamdani won the primary for the New York City mayoral race. We learned the approach by the media to this avowed socialist when the New York Times wrote a piece that delivered facts about some of Mamdani’s past, and the paper’s managing editor felt the need to come out with an explanation about why they had committed journalism.
An intern working on Capitol Hill was murdered, and soon the suspects were arrested. The press had to drop the story because they were 17-year-olds who represented the very type of D.C. criminals that the administration wanted to address, all while the press was denying there is a problem.
A Coldplay concert entered the national consciousness for the first time in years, when a couple featured on the stadium Kiss-Cam turned out to be the married CEO of the company Astronomer, embracing a woman who was not his wife, and we were all made to care.
Chip and Joanna Gaines were the focus of scorn when they featured a gay couple on a new show of theirs. Chip made no gains (as it were) with Christians as he lectured on the proper way to be devout.

AUGUST
Trump staged a summit in Alaska with Vlad Putin in a bid to bring the Russia-Ukraine War to an end. The press was largely upset by this, given that they prefer an ongoing conflict rather than recognizing an accomplishment by Trump.
For a second time, a passel of Democrats from Texas fled the state in an effort to avoid a vote on redistricting. Making this infantile move all the more ignorant, they fled to Illinois, possibly the most gerrymandered state in the union, unraveling just about every argument they made about the proposed legislation.
There was a jarring school shooting in Minneapolis where children gathered at a private school were targeted during a religious service. The press was deeply invested in detailing the events, right up to the point when it was learned that a trans individual was behind the shooting.
Cracker Barrel announced it was rebranding, going with a more bland, homogenized logo and also renovating its restaurants with a more stark decorating motif. The backlash from patrons nationwide was loud enough that the company quickly announced it was abandoning those plans, and it even returned its codger seen on the corporate logo.

We all witnessed the ultimate Karen Moment when Rhode Island Assistant Attorney General Devon Logan Flannigan was captured on police body cam in her drunken and obnoxious display at a restaurant where she was expelled with a friend. Her slurring "I'm an AG!" bossiness was met by police not giving the first damn as she was slung into the back of the police cruiser. The incident led to her being suspended without pay for six months.
In D.C., there was high drama when Sean Dunn was arrested after throwing a Subway sandwich at National Guard troops stationed around the nation’s capital. While he was never convicted, Dunn was fired from his post at the DOJ. He should also be banned from sub shops in the capital.
John Bolton was on the receiving end of an FBI raid in connection with charges filed against him. The press who cheered the raid on Mar-a-Lago called this unseemly and unprecedented. The press that cheered Trump being charged over classified documents retention said Bolton was unfairly targeted. And the same press that loved to lecture that “No one is above the law” tried to sell the concept that Bolton should not have been indicted. It all makes perfect sense.
The European surrender to immigrants was laid bare when in Scotland, a 14-year-old heroine emerged after she stood up to adult foreigners who were sexually approaching her sister. The girl was initially arrested, not the predator, and she became a symbol of needed resistance to appeasing this incursion.

- Jim Acosta brought journalism to a new low in a manner only he could. Abilio conducted an ”interview” with a Parkland student who was killed on the fateful day of that school shooting. This was because of the disturbing detail that the parents created a rendered AI version of their deceased son, and the onetime “journalist” spoke to “him” about gun control measures.
The WNBA finally made national headlines, but in a manner they were not happy about – sexual implements were tossed onto the courts during games, and some of the betting apps were offering odds over what colors might appear next.
SEPTEMBER
The Charlie Kirk assassination took place, and the harsh reality of the event drew out all of the worst elements in the general public and in the media.
A video emerged of a brutal, random murder of a young Ukrainian woman on a commuter line. In keeping with the trend of supporting the low end of 80/20 issues, the press tried to make it out that conservatives were overreacting…to a senseless murder, at the same time the media were downplaying the need to fight crime.
Jimmy Kimmel was suspended for four days by ABC due to errant comments he made about the Charlie Kirk assassination. This led to widespread claims that President Trump was silencing him – despite having been vocally critical of the president for a decade with no reprisals. Kimmel returned and proceeded to complain about being silenced — every single night — and claimed that the president was obsessed with him as he mentioned Trump in his monologues…every - single - night.
In Des Moines, it was learned that a school superintendent was, in fact, an illegal alien, but the press tried defending him as non-deportable, because he had not committed a violent crime, just a general one.
In Miami, a Philadelphia Phillies Karen-fan raged when a father grabbed a homerun ball before she did, and she threw such a tantrum that she proudly took the ball from the son he had given it to. A sign of sanity returning in this nation was the woman becoming a target online before the weekend played out, and the Phillies giving the boy a chance to meet players and get some team swag.
Kamala Harris released her book “107 Days” and proceeded to go on a book tour filled with word salad interviews that reminded everyone why they were happy that she had not won the election.
In the start of a series of targeted leaks from a congressional hearing, the press went crazy over the appearance of a lurid birthday card/letter Trump supposedly wrote and drew for Jeffrey Epstein. When asked what illegality this letter proved, the best answer given was that it was a crime against the visual arts.
NFL announcer Mark Sanchez was stabbed in a late-night altercation, and soon he found himself arrested in his hospital bed and then fired. It was learned that in a drunken rage, he had been the one to begin a fight in an alley with a food delivery driver, who was defending himself.
The issue of taking Tylenol while pregnant became controversial because, instead of analyzing claims from a scientific perspective, it involved President Trump making comments, so hysterical reactions were the only acceptable form of discourse.
Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) released photos of him becoming engaged, and the way both he and his fiancée looked like braying donkeys in every photo had the internet laughing even harder than they tried to portray in the staged images.
In more betrothed news, Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce also announced they were getting married. However, upon further video review, it was shown that Kelce’s knee was down, and therefore, the engagement was ruled incomplete. He needed to replay the proposal.

OCTOBER
The government shutting down became a source of panic among those who are devoted to the government. Despite it being a scheme entirely hatched by Democrats, it was, of course, said to be the fault of Republicans...for voting to keep the government open.
For the second time this year, a No Kings protest was held, because apparently the first one did not get rid of the King we do not have. That we were told by the press how this was a vital and trenchant display of…something…was dispelled by the fact that across the country, people protested as inflatable animals. What this accomplished was never explained by the insistent press.
There was a media meltdown because President Trump commissioned the razing of the East Wing to build a massive entertainment area. The “Bawl Room” coverage claimed the empty offices and long hallway were historically significant, and ignored that many past presidents expressed dismay that large state events had to be held outdoors. There were complaints about the waste of taxpayer money on the project, THEN there were complaints that the construction is privately funded.In a sign of abject double standards, the media that never refrain from calling Trump or Republicans “Hitler,” or “Nazis,” were informed that a candidate running for Congress in Maine had a Nazi tattoo, and they were completely cool about it. In fact, it was more of a problem that Republicans noticed it.
$100 million worth of artifacts were taken in a bold robbery at the Louvre museum that was accomplished because of two main factors: The crooks were assured that breaking into cases in the middle of the day would not cause a reaction by timid Parisians witnessing the crime, and the museum’s security system used the password “LOUVRE,” allowing them to access the targeted items.
Former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre released her revisionist history in book form, and the press dumped all over her for the way she could not conduct an interview without sounding incompetent. This is the same press that, for the past few years, said making these exact same comments about this same woman while at the White House was racist.
The Puerto Rican rap star Bad Bunny became a controversial cultural flashpoint, and was then named to be the halftime act for the upcoming Super Bowl – all while nobody was really sure if they had ever heard any of his music.
The NBA was rocked by a betting scandal involving referees and even players, who the FBI said had altered game results. The real amusement was seen as reporting on this dire development was done by sports outlets with partnerships with betting apps.
NOVEMBER
The government shutdown played out and became the longest such event in history. The insistence of the GOP being blamed was undermined by the reality that Republicans repeatedly voted unanimously to open the government. The Dems tried to coax President Trump to push for the Nuclear Option to bail them out, and complaints that the House Republicans abandoned their responsibilities were neutered by the reality that the House had passed the resolution already, and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) was behind the blockade.
Marjorie Taylor Greene announced her impending retirement from Congress and then promptly turned into a left-wing radical overnight. She became a giddy guest on “The View,” and even attended a Code Pink conference. We now await her announcing she is a spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood, as she signs on to the cabinet of Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
Half a dozen Democrats put out a video inspiring members of our military to violate “illegal” orders. These six were hailed as heroes in the press, even when they could not name one instance of an illegal order being given, and then, when it was announced they were possibly committing treason, they claimed the president was threatening to kill them.
A Virginia liquor store was ransacked overnight, and the perpetrator was found passed out in the bathroom after its late-night binge.

- Another planet-saving climate conference was held in Brazil, and the Gang That Couldn’t Conserve Straight took things to new lows. Aside from kiting in from all over the globe in carbon-belching private jets, preparations involved tens of thousands of acres of rainforest to be mowed down and paved over to accommodate the throngs of saintly preservationists. Then, at the conclusion, the conference location was engulfed in a fire.
The National Mint announced that due to costs, it would be suspending the production of the $0.01 piece. Retailers were facing the move to either round up or down to an even nickel amount, which will only make life harder on Gen-Z cashiers already struggling with how to make change.
A huge scandal erupted within the BBC when an internal report on the voluminous amount of corrupted journalism from the network included how a documentary had fraudulently manipulated audio from the speech given by Donald Trump on January 6, 2021. As the likes of Brian Stelter defended the very type of fake news he loves to decry, President Trump brought a lawsuit against the British broadcaster.
Conde Nast announced it was shuttering most of Teen Vogue and rolling anything remaining into the parent publication. This inspired reporters from other publications to complain to the management loudly, which inspired the management to fire them. It was the right decision, given TEEN Vogue was 20 years old, and thus no longer a teenager.
A new trend on social media saw “Disney Adults” posting content of them going to the theme parks and behaving like sophomoric arrested adolescents.
DECEMBER
President Trump continued to face harsh criticism over the attacks on Venezuelan drug boats. Democrats took the side of being sympathetic to the plight of drug cartels, and DoW Secretary Pete Hegseth was accused of committing war crimes. The administration assessed these complaints from Democrats and the press, and decided to do the proper thing – they began seizing Venezuelan oil takers.
President Trump decided to have Congress decide on releasing the Epstein Files. After voting to do so, entirely rational and pragmatic reactions to the contents have taken place. Screeching over the lack of proof was because the proof had been redacted, Trump pictured with his daughter proved he was guilty, while photos of Bill Clinton in a hot tub “needed more context,” and of course, Trump was present to see his rape victim toss his baby into Lake Michigan. Like we said, rational and pragmatic!
In Minnesota, a taxpayer welfare scandal erupted, showing that children's charities and other NGOs collected billions of dollars in fraudulent claims. Since the whole process involves Democratic Party leaders and the Somali community, the press focused on the truly upsetting part of the story — Trump said mean things! Apparently, given that it was found that hundreds of millions of dollars were sent out to Somali terror groups, calling it a Somali scandal is racist.
A mass shooting took place in Australia as a father and son opened fire on a Jewish gathering for Hannukkah. Here in the States, our brilliant media suggested that since that country’s militant gun laws did nothing to prevent this violence, we need to adopt their gun confiscation laws.
After Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) was one of the six Democrats in the “Sedition Six” video, he went on a steady stream of appearances in near-daily interviews, unable to shut up and perpetually proclaiming how he is being silenced.
Canada found another reason to hate the U.S. after Pete Hegseth made memes using the beloved national symbol, Franklin the Turtle.
Director Rob Reiner was found murdered in his home, and his son was arrested for the fatal stabbings. Many of the same people who cheered morbidly when Charlie Kirk was murdered were lecturing those on the right on the proper way to express sympathy for Reiner.
Marco Rubio made the decision that all State Department correspondence had to be made using the typeface New Times Roman. Entirely sane-thinking journalists analyzed the decision and came to the rational conclusion that this makes Rubio a Nazi.
A Northern California woman felt it was her duty to play the role of a vulgar Karen and berate an elderly worker at a Target store for wearing a Charlie Kirk “Freedom” t-shirt. The employee was on the receiving end of a large crowdfunding effort.
A massive scandal enveloped CBS News regarding censorship and presidential media manipulation as the director of the news division, Bari Weiss, called for a 60 Minutes segment to…(rechecks reports)...uh, to have some more reporting take place.
Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) declared she will be running for a Senate seat in Texas. Her coming-out video provided nothing as far as an agenda; it was simply the voice of President Trump as he insults her.

As we get set to flip the calendar, all we can be assured of seeing in the coming year under a Trump presidential term is more mayhem, more dysfunctional journalism, and more social upheaval on social media. Keep your sense of humor in order to keep your sanity!
