Michelle Obama’s View of Trump Voters Is Exactly Why Democrats Are Struggling

We saw Mayor Karen Bass make something of an incredible statement about how her opponent, Spencer Pratt, was "tapping into a general sense of anger."

The cluelessness of that statement was astounding. Yes, the voters are angry. They're angry because the Democratic politicians like Bass have failed them, and they want someone who talks common sense like Pratt.

But this cluelessness when it comes to voters is a general problem for Democrats. Michelle Obama also hit this theme during a recent interview with the host of the "Talk Easy" podcast, Sam Fragoso. She said that people voted for Trump because they were struggling with healthcare and the high cost of living, making them more susceptible to finding someone to blame.

"You know, I can't look some people in the face and tell them you have no right to be angry or to do something that maybe is against your own interest. That's what — that's human nature. Many of the people who voted for my husband twice — twice! And I know that that's how they feel. It's like, this isn't, this isn't about anything other than I'm, just, we need something different."

Obama argued you couldn't just "pigeonhole them," say they didn't care or were racist. "This is an act of 'I don't know what else to do.'" Obama contended.

Obama claimed they needed to have more leaders who cared about the middle class. She said she knew those middle-class people who faced difficulty, and "that makes for bad choices."

Just like with Bass, why are the people angry, Michelle? Where was your husband to solve any of these issues? I thought he was supposed to solve healthcare with Obamacare, and that solved nothing.

But the phrasing is so insulting to the voters — and she doesn't get that she's being insulting, as though the voters didn't understand what they were doing and were making "bad choices."

No.

Rather, the voters were making a very affirmative decision for policies that they believed in, after politicians like her husband had failed.

They voted for President Donald Trump because they wanted things like border security and tax cuts — and they've gotten that. They voted against the extremes being pushed by the Democrats and the fundamental transformation they were promoting. Obviously, there's more to do, but the choice between that and Barack "Let's Prop Up the Mullahs With Pallets of Cash" Obama or Joe "Let's Let Everyone In" Biden is stark.

Michelle said she felt like the country was "confused" now.

Righting the country and putting it back on its proper footing is "confusion"? Maybe to the people who can't figure out what a woman is.

In the same interview, Michelle Obama spoke about the shootings that involved ICE in Minnesota and praised the community response.

"And you know I'm, right now I'm kind of digging the way folks are beginning to respond, right? I mean, Minnesota, powerful stuff. I mean it was a powerful reminder of what a community of people can do and are willing to do to protect one another."

Yes, that is indeed "confusion" when you are fighting against the rule of law. That's being out of touch with most Americans.

But this is where Democrats are. And they wonder why they have lost the people.
