Yamaha Speeding Away From California Is a Damning Indictment of Dems

Add another one to the continuing flight from the business hellhole that is California.

Looks like now Yamaha, a Japanese company which has been in California for 50 years, is out the door, moving to Georgia as part of major structural reforms to cut costs

The relocation won’t happen overnight. Yamaha plans to start the exit in late 2026, with the transition stretching into 2028.

Company spokesman Bob Starr said consolidating operations in Georgia simply makes business sense.

“In terms of efficiency, to have us all together in Georgia — all the functions of the business — it makes a lot of sense,” Starr said.

The departure marks another corporate blow for Cypress.

Back in 2019, Mitsubishi Motors North America ditched its longtime HQ in the city after 31 years, moving roughly 200 jobs to Franklin, Tennessee to cut costs.

They had already had part of their operation in Georgia.

The company already shifted its marine division there in 1999 and moved its motorsports operations in 2019 — making the headquarters relocation the final piece of the puzzle.

We've previously reported how In-N-Out Burger's president called out the terrible conditions for business in California, as she expanded the business into Tennessee.

Then, too, there's also the contemplated California wealth tax that is inspiring billionaires to flee as well.

New Reason Billionaires (and Their Businesses) May Flee California - and How Dems Are Making It Worse

It's not just businesses and billionaires — it's difficult for the regular people, who have also fled.

For the sixth year in a row, California has recorded the highest number of residents leaving the state, leading the nation in outbound migration, according to U-Haul's latest Growth Index report. [....]

The DIY moving company speculates whether it's a red or blue thing, noting nine of the bottom 10 growth states have Democrat governors, and seven of those states went blue in the 2024 presidential election.

This is a pretty damning indictment of the Democrats, like California Gov. Newsom, who have been in charge. This says everything about how they don't make things amenable to businesses or affordable for the people. About the only thing you can say is that apparently fewer people are fleeing than were fleeing during the pandemic.

But instead of calling out the failure, you have liberal media hacks like Katie Couric asking questions like whether Newsom really thinks he is ridiculously good-looking. Somehow, I don't think companies balancing their expenses versus all the crushing regulations think much of Newsom's looks.

So here's the thing. If this is what the Democrats, including California Gov. Gavin Newsom, helped to create in California, why would you ever want to put him in charge as president? What's he been doing to solve any of the issues California faces? He's been off on his book tour and spending time on social media trying to attack President Donald Trump. He can't be bothered with dealing with the actual problems.
