President Donald Trump arrived in Malaysia on Sunday to an amazing greeting.

They not only had the red carpet out, with people waving Malaysian and American flags, but they also had dancers performing in costume to welcome him. Trump paid them back with an epic "Trump Dance," which the dancers and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim clearly enjoyed. You could hear the cheers go up when he did it.

The music was the theme from Hawaii Five-0, which was pretty cool.

He also thrilled some of the welcoming crowd who were waving American and Malaysian flags by waving the flags and talking with them.

This is the Trump that the media is always ignoring, the guy who naturally knows how to connect with people, and that benefits the United States. That's after a very long flight to get there.

Trump was there for the signing of a peace deal that he helped broker between Cambodia and Thailand.

The Malaysian PM praised Trump's tenacity for peace and willingness to break the conventions to get things done.

Both the leaders of Cambodia and Thailand thanked Trump, with the Cambodian president saying he "saved lives," and they wanted to nominate him for the Nobel Prize.

Trump got Thailand to release 18 Cambodian soldiers who had been detained. The deal also established border observer teams to help keep peace between the two countries.

Trump also signed trade deals with the three countries that would help reduce tariffs on U.S. goods and open their markets to the United States. You can read about all the details here.

The U.S. and Malaysia released a joint statement saying an agreement was reached "to strengthen our bilateral economic relationship, which will provide both countriesโ€™ exporters unprecedented access to each otherโ€™s markets."

"The Agreement will build upon our longstanding economic relationship, including the United States-Malaysia Trade Investment Framework Agreement signed in 2004," the statement said.

According to the White House, Malaysia agreed to buy a lot from us, including:

  • Up to $3.4 billion annually in U.S. LNG purchases through multi-year agreements with Petronas in Malaysia.
  • $42.6 million annually in U.S. coal sales to TNB Fuel in Malaysia and purchases of U.S. telecommunication products and services valued at $119 million.
  • Purchase of 30 Boeing aircraft plus a purchase option for 30 additional aircraft.
  • Purchases of U.S. semiconductors, aerospace components, and data center equipment with an estimated value of $150 billion.

Trump additionally worked out a deal regarding critical minerals with Malaysia, as well as with Thailand, to help buttress our critical minerals options as a hedge against China. The leaders all seemed to be having a great interaction with each other.

Trump joked about the Malaysian Prime Minister's "artistic" signature.

Then the president also participated in the 13th annual U.S.-ASEAN Summit meeting.

How great it is to have a leader.
