The Democrats have been trying to blame President Donald Trump and the Republicans for the government shutdown.
The Dems were hoping that the "No Kings" protests would provide them with some ballast for their fight against Trump. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) was hoping that he would appease the radical leftist base so he could hold onto his seat.
The problem with that? The ridiculous "No Kings" exercise is now over, and we still have no kings. All this did was expose how the Democrats were focused on something that isn't real, versus the real issue of opening the government and doing something for the American people.
Not even the media is falling for Schumer's shutdown play, as we noted earlier. ABC's Jon Karl acknowledged in an interview with Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) that it was the Democrats who shut down the government.

Moreover, if the Democrats thought their actions were going to hurt Trump, they need to think again. They're really not going to like what CNN data analyst Harry Enten has to say about the numbers for Trump regarding the shutdown.
This shutdown is a different world for Trump than the 2018-19 shutdown. He's in a much better spot.

His net approval is up slightly during this shutdown vs. dropping during 2018-19.
Why? The % who blame him a great deal for the shutdown is down significantly now vs. 2018-19. pic.twitter.com/WHEqHaqo4M
Enten explains not only has Trump's support not gone down as it did during the government shutdown in Trump's first term, his support has actually gone up a point in popular approval during this twenty-day shutdown so far.
The reason why? The percentage of people who blame him for it is down from what it was in 2018-2019.
The facts are very clear as to whose fault it is. Both Trump and the Congressional Republicans are hammering that truth home about the Schumer Shutdown.
"This one isn't hurting him at all," Enten declared, saying there was no real reason, at least in terms of popular support, that he might want to get out of it. He's getting less of the blame, Enten said. And he explained how Trump had learned from his first term how to get things done, despite intransigence from Congress. He's signed 210 executive orders this year so far.
Anchor John Berman had a great line, "He seems to be saying, 'Congress you don't want to do something?'"
Enten finished his line, "I'll do it.'"
So if the Democrats thought that they had the leverage to force Trump to give them what they want, they don't. And in embracing their radicals, they just made themselves look worse. Their popularity was already in the dumper, but, hey, it can always go lower.
Can someone please play this in the next Dem Caucus meeting so we can get this shutdown over with? https://t.co/T6RGHJHRjy

Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
