Tim Burchett Injured After Getting Kicked by Horse - but It's His Reaction That Has People Talking

Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) is not your typical 60-year-old member of Congress.

Unlike some members, Burchett believes he has to inform people about what he's working on in Congress. So he regularly posts on X about the bills he's involved in and what he's doing. He still likes to shred a skateboard around the Capitol, and he regularly verbally takes down a stalker who waits for him as he goes back and forth to work.

I think he's a tough bird, and he showed it with the latest news.

He was accidentally kicked by a horse over the weekend, breaking a rib.

"While working on his farm over the weekend, Congressman Burchett was accidentally kicked by a horse," according to a statement from spokesperson Will Garrett.  "He suffered a broken rib and bruising but hasn't missed a beat."

It could have turned out a lot worse, as he revealed to Fox's Chad Pergram.

[A] horsefly landed on his horse's tail, causing it to get spooked.

The horse kicked Burchett in the chest "with both hooves," leaving him with a unique battle scar.

"It’s a cool mark," Burchett told Pergram. "I’ve been toying with the idea of getting a tattoo."

While the congressman made light of the situation, he added the doctor told him he was "lucky," because it would have been a problem had the blow "been an inch-and-a-half higher."

He's lucky he's still here. That can be very painful and impede you for a while.

Liberals posted nasty things in response to the news, once again showing what scummy people they can be.

Here's an example:

I think Burchett would take that as a left-handed compliment that he was doing a good job. Fortunately, while there was a bunch of ugliness from folks on the left, most were caring in their response.

Burchett joked about his injury and thanked everyone for their prayers and concerns. He conveyed it wasn't going to stop him from doing his job.

Since everyone is asking, here’s the deal: On Sunday, I was kicked by a horse. Broke a rib. He didn't like being bit by that horse fly, and my rib was collateral damage.

On Monday, I traveled 3.5 hours to middle Tennessee. Attended 3 events. Got back to the farm at 2:30am.

Today, I was awake by 6am. Traveled to Campbell County. Attended 2 events.

It's going to take more than a broken rib to slow me down. I sincerely appreciate everyone's concern and prayers for a quick recovery.

Pray for our country.

He wasn't kidding. He posted about the events as he regularly does, and his meeting with constituents.

Now that's a fortitude, and what you need in a member of Congress. People praised him for his dedication. But too bad we don't have more of that kind of effort.

He takes a kicking, but keeps on ticking.
