I admit to being amused by how lost and confused Democrats still are about their loss in the 2024 elections. There was a great example of this from Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) during a CNN interview on Monday.
Swalwell was asked what the Democrats learned from the defeat. What should they not do the next time?
Eric Swalwell: The main problem Dems had in 2024 was that Americans just didn’t see enough of Kamala Harris. pic.twitter.com/Q6b6aKrzkH

Swalwell said that they always had to be "on."
Most people think Kamala Harris' biggest mistake was when she said on "The View" she wouldn't do anything different than Joe Biden, Swalwell stated. But he thought her problem was that she didn't do another interview right away. She needed to be out there more. Translation: people didn't see enough of her. Is he kidding?
Yes, she ducked interviews. But her real problem was being a failure in a failed administration. When she was heard, she spoke in word salads and didn't offer concrete answers. Funny thing: people want to know what you are going to do about the issues that are important to them. People didn't like what they saw when they saw her. If she did more interviews with the same problem, it would have made that more obvious. So the analysis is lacking. The problem was the bad candidate. Who remembers this wonderful word salad?

Swalwell says for the next election, they have to be "always on" as President Donald Trump was, talking to everyone. That is correct. He interviewed with everyone, whether they supported him or not. He showed fortitude, a quality that Harris lacks.
But what I found funny in Swalwell's confused explanation is that he also said, "'Always on' means you're always honest." So Eric Swalwell just defined Trump as "always honest." Just did in the Democratic narrative there, Eric, whoops.
What is true is that Trump is not a phony, like so many Democratic politicians. He says what he thinks.
"We have the values on our side, so now we just have to be in more places, more spaces, and that's why we're going to win in the midterms," Swalwell declared. No, the problem was the failure and caring about the issues that mattered to the American people first. "The values" are not on your side. If you had a good message, you wouldn't have lost in 2024. And you haven't gained any greater wisdom on the matter since then. Swalwell makes these comments even as he and other Democrats embrace illegal aliens and attack ICE.
But keep going with that. Please put up Kamala Harris again. That's the best thing you can do... for our side.
