When I heard the speech from President Donald Trump was going to approach two hours, I wondered if it was going to be too long.
But it was banging the whole time -- fully focused on what he wanted to do for the country.
There were a variety of touching moments when Trump recognized people in the audience and then explained why they were there, from the families of Jocelyn Nungaray and Laken Riley -- two young women who were brutally murdered by illegal aliens -- to recognizing the wife of a murdered police officer.
But there was one moment that was particularly sweet when Trump -- in the context of talking about helping to improve children's health in the future -- spoke about 13-year-old DJ Daniel. DJ is a brain cancer survivor who was told in 2018 he might not last more than five months, yet there he was in the audience in 2025. DJ's dream is to be a police officer and, as Trump said, he'd had that dream realized by some other police departments. But Trump had a special surprise for him.
Watch this little guy's eyes bug out of his head when POTUS says he's asking the new Secret Service director to make DJ an agent of the United States Service.

When DJ found out he was thrilled, and he threw his arms around the new Secret Service Director Sean Curran in what was a truly beautiful picture. It was about life, joy, and hope.
The hug DJ Daniel, an amazing 13-year-old boy battling brain cancer, gives Secret Service Director Sean Curran just demolished me.

The best moment of the night.
So much joy. So much hope. The vibe shift is deafening. pic.twitter.com/t0QjscRb98

That's how things are changing. Republicans stood and chanted DJ's name.
Even there, some Democrats were still sitting on their hands, as you can see at the end of the clip above. They couldn't even stand for such a brave little boy.
DJ also stood with another guy who had his dreams come true during Trump's speech. Jason Hartley, who always wanted to go to West Point, was told he was accepted. DJ went over and gave him a high five. That's how classy that kid is.

That may just have been the best moment of the night.
You can see from those two examples how the address was high on all the things that make America great, exemplified by these two fine young men. This is what makes America great, and this is why there is such a difference that Trump is bringing now to the country.
