Many on the right are infuriated by the result of the verdict in the Manhattan trial against former President Donald Trump.
As many expressed, it wasn't just about Trump; it's about how such a political prosecution perverts our system and turns us into a banana republic where the rule of law no longer applies. Although one could make an argument that the system has been uneven for some time, with Democrats not suffering any consequences while Trump can be subjected to novel legal prosecutions to get him, this just puts a capper on it.
But if there was anyone who summed up what a lot of people were feeling about this affront to the rule of law, it was Megyn Kelly. She said that Democrats were going to "rue the day" with what they had started.
🚨 NEW: Megyn Kelly suggests a reckoning is coming for Biden, Obama, and Clinton after Trump verdict.

"I'm not talking about violence," she made clear.
"I'm talking about tit for tat," she said.
"You just wait, and it won't be Hunter Biden the next time," Kelly explained, listing some of the people like Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama that potential prosecutions could cover. She said they were going to have to look at the various "statute of limitations" in the various situations.
"We’re going to have to look at passing laws to revive those dead crimes, felonies, or misdemeanors so that those cases can be brought out of time,” she opined, skewering how the Manhattan DA walked around the misdemeanors against Trump being outside the statute of limitations and how a special law was passed in New York to allow for E. Jean Carroll's civil suit against Trump.
"Turnabout is fair play," she continued. "The only way to save the Republic now is to give them a taste of their own medicine." That's the only way they'll learn and stop, Kelly said.
She recalled the filibuster situation and how the late Sen. Harry Reid opened the door to get what he wanted, and Republicans walked right through it, with Democrats rueing their actions.
"So before you celebrate too much over at MSNBC and CNN, who are positively gleeful, gleeful over this absurd conviction," she cautioned, "You wait, and you ask yourself: What kind of Pandora's box has been opened here?"
I would only note it's not really "tit for tat" — it's about adhering to the law and applying it equally. There are a variety of things that you could pull out. Obama's CIA spied on Congress. No action. Biden had classified documents even from the time he was in the Senate when he had no right to have them. Hillary had classified information and had an FEC problem.
The FEC concluded that the Clinton campaign and DNC misreported the money that funded the dossier, masking it as “legal services” and “legal and compliance consulting” instead of opposition research.
She got a fine, not a prosecution.
Then, with Trump, we see the law applied in twisted ways we've never seen before.
Kelly's right. Democrats have no conscience about any of this; it's all about holding onto power. They won't stop until you finally start holding them to account legally. The problem there has always been there have been a lot of strongly worded letters and investigations, not a lot of consequences for anything, since at least the time of Barack Obama. It requires Republicans to be willing to commit to real action to hold people accountable. One way you may get around inaction in Washington is you have Republican prosecutors in a variety of states who care about the law.
But the Democrats need to be checked if we are going to have the rule of law and not devolve into the banana republic that they seem to want us to become.
