'O, Canada' - NYC and Illegal Aliens Quit on Each Other, City Now Sending Them to Border

Liberals are fond of saying they are for welcoming illegal aliens and for sanctuary cities.

But when those illegal aliens are sent to sanctuary cities like New York or liberal holiday bastions like Martha’s Vineyard, then suddenly you get meltdowns and accusations that shipping people there is “human trafficking.” That’s what liberals accused Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis of when he shipped just fifty people to Martha’s Vineyard. NYC Mayor Eric Adams threw fits when he didn’t even get anywhere near the numbers that have been flooding into smaller less equipped border towns in Texas.

Now in what has to be a true exercise in hilarious irony, it looks like both NYC and the migrants have had enough of each other and NYC is engaging in a little “human trafficking” of its own.

NY is shipping the illegal aliens out to Canada, with the help of the National Guard. The National Guard is helping to direct the aliens to workers who give them free tickets at the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Those tickets then take them to Plattsburgh, New York. There, the people them would get on a van ride to within steps of the border.

Driver Tyler Tambini, whose girlfriend’s brother owns the company, said passengers arrive like clockwork on the five buses from New York City that stop in Plattsburgh each day.

“There’s gotta be 100 people a day,” said Tambini, 23. “I do this all day. They get dropped off and I take them the rest of the way.”

They then cross the border and are picked up by Mounties for processing. Beforehand, they rip up the asylum papers that they had from the U.S.

What happened to being a “sanctuary city,” NYC Mayor Eric Adams? I guess that went by the boards when the reality of having to deal with even a fraction of the influx that the border towns have been crushed with for more than two years under Joe Biden. Where are the liberals now to scream “human trafficking” at what NYC is doing? And this is knowingly helping people go to Canada, on the taxpayer dime.

So why are the illegal aliens going to Canada? Didn’t they ask for asylum here? Yes, and now we’ve become the avenue for free tickets to help them get to Canada. Some of the folks who said they had wanted to go to NYC now regretted their decision and wanted out, having seen what NYC was like.

Here’s what Peruvian native Susy Sanchez Solzarno, 33, said.

“I wanted to live in New York because I thought it would be a better future for my daughters,” she said. “But as the days went by, I saw insecurity, many homeless people, many people who shout and are disrespectful, and many people on drugs.”

Solzarno said she sold candy in the subway system for almost two weeks to pay for their trip.

“I am going to Canada for the safety and future of my girls,” she said. “I only ask God that everything goes well and that Canada is not like the United States.”

Then there’s Venezuelan native Manuel Rodon, 26, who was one of the illegal aliens who got kicked out of the Row NYC hotel and didn’t want to stay in the homeless shelter in Brooklyn.

Rodon described the shelter as “OK” except for the American residents.

“A lot of the Americans used drugs there,” he said. “I feel like Canada will be safer. It is a much quieter country than America.”

Rodon, who crossed the border about an hour after getting to Plattsburgh, said he knew eight other Venezuelans who’d made the same trip.

“They all got free tickets, too. It was the same process,” he said. “It took them three days through customs. They are all safe. They live in Montreal.”

The city admitted to the “re-ticketing” for illegal aliens trying to go to other places but isn’t talking about who is paying for all this. Gov. Kathy Hochul’s office said neither the state nor the National Guard were paying for the tickets. A National Guard spokesperson admitted their participation in the effort which means we all are paying for them to be there doing that as opposed to elsewhere.

What I’m not seeing in the story is an agreement between the U.S. and Canada to take them there, particularly after they asked for asylum in this country to get in. How long will it be until Justin Trudeau, much like Eric Adams, says, “Hey wait a minute, we weren’t talking about thousands of people!” You know that will be the next part of the drama.
