White House Falsifies the Official Transcript of Jill Biden's Gaffe-Fest 'Taco' Remarks

Looks like the White House is at it once again — falsifying the historical record and the transcripts of what Joe Biden and his team say.

On July 8, Joe Biden appeared to have a “Ron Burgundy” moment during his remarks about his abortion executive order, seemingly reading the teleprompter when he said, “End of quote. Repeat the line.” Then the White House Assistant Press Secretary, Emilie Simons, insisted on Twitter that Biden had said, “Let me repeat the line,” although that was untrue, given the video that exists of the event. Then, after Simons said that, the official White House transcript falsely reflected that he said “let me” when he had not.

Although they did acknowledge Biden didn’t say it on video, Politifact seemed to be running a little interference for the White House.

Politifact also claimed Biden said “let me” in other parts of the speech. So? I’m not sure what that’s supposed to mean. He didn’t say it in this case. Politifact additionally noted that the White House showed them a teleprompter file that included the term “let me.” Given the fact that they’d falsify the official transcript, I’m not sure I’d trust that any “file” that they show me hasn’t been altered.

Bottom line? He didn’t say it, so why is the White House putting out a false record of the event? And media should be calling that out, not trying to softball it.

But we have a new case now to deal with the Biden team falsifying the transcript.

On Monday, we reported on Jill Biden’s gaffe-fest comments at the “LatinX IncluXion” luncheon at the UnidosUS 2022 Annual Conference in San Antonio. During her remarks, she made the following comment, as we reported.

“But we can’t get those things on our own,” Jill declared. “Raul helped build this organization with the understanding that the diversity of this community — as distinct as the bogidas (sic) of the Bronx, as beautiful as the blossoms of Miami, and as unique as the breakfast tacos here in San Antonio — is your strength.”

Jill Biden describing “bodegas” as “bogidas” got a lot of attention and a lot of mocking. Not surprisingly, she also got called out by Hispanic journalists for trying to compare Hispanic people to “breakfast tacos.” But this is just part of a pattern of problems that the Biden team has had in their outreach to the Hispanic community. It’s like they’re trying to insult people and lose their vote. Who can forget this golden moment from Joe?

But now the official transcript is out for Jill Biden’s comments at the luncheon and we have another problem.

Here’s what the official transcript says:

Notice they say “bodegas,” not “bogidas.” So once again, we appear to have another clean-up effort on something that isn’t even a question — we have the video, we know what she said. She did not say “bodegas.”

I get that Jill Biden is “She Who Shall Not Be Crossed,” but she said is what she said, and the White House is now deceiving the public with this, as well as deceiving history when they don’t properly reflect the record. If it isn’t called out now, they will keep doing this. But imagine them lying about something which has already been so widely reported. Once again, they have no conscience.
