If there’s anyone who should feel particularly vindicated by the news that has come out over the past few days in regard to Dr. Anthony Fauci’s emails, it’s Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY).
As we reported, Paul had previously grilled Fauci over hot coals and exposed Fauci’s contradictory responses on gain of function research.
He wasn’t shy about expressing himself.
His first response was succinct and to the point.
Can’t wait to see the media try to spin the Fauci FOIA emails.

Last night, he went on the “Ingraham Angle” and tore Fauci a new one. This video is something else. Paul brings — and drops — all the receipts.

Paul said, “The emails paint a disturbing picture, a disturbing picture of Dr. Fauci, from the very beginning, worrying that he had been funding gain-of-function research,” Paul told Laura Ingraham. “And he knows it to this day, but hasn’t admitted it.” Paul said there hadn’t been an adequate investigation of all this because there was such partisan support for Fauci — “he could do no wrong” — from Democrats. There’s a lot of evidence that he has many conflicts of interest, Paul declared.
Paul went right at Fauci saying there was a great degree of “culpability” in that Fauci was a “big supporter of the funding” and that he was also a big supporter of the idea that we could trust the Chinese and the Chinese scientists. Paul said that showed Fauci was quite naive and should preclude him from the job he holds.
They covered an email from a Fauci underling showing how worried they were about funding gain of function and that “the experiments were performed before the gain of function pause but have since been reviewed and approved by NIH.” Paul pointed out how just two weeks ago, Fauci denied any funding for gain of function research. Paul and Ingraham also discussed the Wuhan lab funder, Peter Daszak, email thanking Fauci on April 18, 2020, for publicly dismissing the lab leak theory, as we reported, and claiming that the scientific evidence supports a natural origin for the virus. As we noted earlier, Fauci himself, today, just admitted that link showing it was a natural or zoonotic origin hadn’t yet been confirmed.
Ingraham points out what a scandal this is, especially if it was funded by U.S. taxpayers through research funding and Paul ended the interview with an even more concerning comment about the danger of what they were studying and that it could even lead to a more deadly situation in the future.
It should never have taken this long, but Democrats need to answer up on all of this or they will hear from the American people in 2022, big time.
