One of the things that makes Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis so interesting is not only is he smart with a terrific background, but he’s also a fighter, he doesn’t take any guff from anyone and certainly not from media, as we saw in the case of “60 Minutes.”
DeSantis appeared on “Fox and Friends” on Wednesday and took the opportunity to just level the CBS show for their deceptive piece against him and their remarks about the piece on their show on Sunday.
DeSantis: '60 Minutes' showed contempt for viewers, they should admit vaccine story was false | https://t.co/R5w4Splswf

The show falsely tried to paint DeSantis as giving Publix a role in the vaccine rollout because they donated to his PAC. Not only did DeSantis himself debunk this in an answer that “60 Minutes” deceptively edited, multiple Democrats who were also involved in the process also blew apart the accusation and revealed “60 Minutes” wasn’t interested in the truth that they tried to offer.
DeSantis called on the “corporate media operatives” at CBS News’ “60 Minutes” to “admit that it was false.”
“They’ve issued a lot of mealy-mouthed statements since the episode aired, they knew what they were putting on the air was false,” DeSantis said on “Fox & Friends.”
DeSantis said CBS News producers talked to people who knew the story was false but “refused” to put them on the air.
“They know that they got caught, so they never even addressed that, they just issued these mealy-mouthed statements, but what I would say to ’60 Minutes’ and the American people, they have so much contempt for their viewers to try to gaslight them like this,” DeSantis said. “You know what, admit that it was false. That’s the responsible thing to do.” [….]
“These are corporate media operatives … They had a political mission to smear me, they thought that they could do it, drive by, and just go on to the next target,” DeSantis said. “But I have a platform, I have the ability to fight back. We have done that, we’re going to continue to do that.”
DeSantis said that they’d been caught “red-handed.”
That’s exactly right. It’s because he’s been doing a great job and they have no response to it. As I previously reported, DeSantis has been doing all he could for his state and protecting his seniors. He’s been successful now with numbers on deaths from the Wuhan coronavirus continuing to decline for months so that now they’ve even hit single digits. Meanwhile, Democrats have horrible folks like the man media imagined as a possible presidential candidate, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who’s shown what a vile despicable character he is, and Joe Biden, who doesn’t know where he is half the time. No wonder media like “60 Minutes” is scrambling.
