Christine Pelosi Tries Lame Attack on Ron DeSantis, Gets Hit With Facts and Her Mother's Own Actions

Today seems to be the day for stories about Democrats and media owning themselves.

First winner was CNN’s Brian Stelter, who tried to dunk on a Fox News chyron but then was reminded of some of the fun, fake, and flat-out wrong chyrons that he and his network have peddled recently.

But then there’s Christine Pelosi, the daughter of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). She was trying to feed the Ron DeSantis hate on the left.

It’s actually kind of funny how much they fear DeSantis as a possible, future president, and how they’re working so hard to do him in now over the Wuhan coronavirus. They’re also doing it to distract from the absolute scandal that is the Democratic governor of New York’s response to the virus.

The only problem with this Democratic effort? DeSantis has facts — and being right — to back himself up. Even CNN and some Democrats have had to concede that DeSantis’ effort was pretty good, that the death rate is no greater than the national average, despite having a concentrated, older population, and that they’ve done better than some who instituted more restrictions, as Axios observes. Meanwhile Florida’s unemployment rate is 5.1%, compared to 9.3% in California, 8.7% in New York, and 6.9% in Texas. Not to mention that children have been back in classrooms since this past fall.

It’s almost as if she’s wishing for an outbreak just to try to pin it on DeSantis. But she’s frustrated because that isn’t happening.

Not to mention that it’s somehow the governor’s fault that folks in Miami got riotous and that’s led to the imposition of a curfew?

What does that even have to do with the governor or the virus? Pelosi is trying so hard to dunk on DeSantis, yet having no idea what she’s talking about.

But Christine Pelosi apparently doesn’t recall her own mother’s response to the Wuhan coronavirus initially. Remember how Nancy Pelosi was encouraging people to go to Chinatown at the end of February last year?

Now at that point, anyone would know that that really wasn’t something that you should be encouraging, to hang out in crowds anywhere. But Democrats were doing it, with some like Joe Biden’s chief of staff now, and his coronavirus adviser then, Ron Klain, saying we had more to be concerned about from fear than from the virus. They’re just hoping that you forgot all about that. But Christine’s effort to dunk on DeSantis reminded everyone. So, great job there on behalf of your mom!
