Before we jump into the ridiculous story that follows, it's only fair that — again — I make my feelings about former First Lady Michelle Obama public.
To sum it up, if there's a whinier, more self-entitled, multimillionaire on the planet who's only famous because of his or her spouse's former job than Michelle Obama, I'm unaware of who it is.
What you're about to read is a perfect example of this woman's "poor, poor, pitiful me" attitude, and the further you read, the more ridiculous it gets.
Mrs. Obama recently whined about an experience she was forced to endure (sarcasm intended) aboard Air Force One while hubby Barack was in his first term. So buckle your seatbelts, gang, and ready yourself to read about the "infuriating" moment the former first lady was subjected to — in her own mind.
Our story begins with Michelle recounting on a recent episode of her podcast — "IMO With Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson," which she does with her brother — one of the great crises of her life: opting to wear Bermuda shorts instead of a dress on Air Force One during a vacation trip to Arizona, where she and Barack planned to hike in the Grand Canyon.
In 2009. Nineteen years ago. Yeah.
The fact that we [women] had to spend time thinking about that kind of stuff in ways that my husband didn’t — it was really infuriating. Then an article, a negative article, still happened.
Michelle went on to explain that in August 2009, she and Barack were set to depart Air Force One on their first vacation since the inauguration earlier that year. While she festered over what attire would be appropriate for a first lady, and not draw public criticism, she was also annoyed that her husband — being a man, and all — didn't need to worry about what outfit he would wear on the plane.
Again, 19 years later, millions of dollars in the bank, and still admired by liberal white women, everywhere — she's still talking about something that most of us would have zero recollection of.
She continued:
It was 100 degrees. Barack — I was like, 'Well, what are you wearing?' He was like, 'Well, I'm gonna throw on some sneakers, I'm gonna take my jacket off and roll my sleeves up," because that's what men can do. White shirt, no collar, no tie. That was how he changed.
Oh, the humanity!
The more she whined, the worse — and more hilarious — it got:
I can't wear hiking shorts there, and I can't wear a dress to hike. That would be crazy. People would call me 'disconnected' and 'un-American.' I'm at the Grand Canyon in a tea-length dress with flats? I was like, 'That's not how people go to the Grand Canyon.'
I eventually opted for the thing that felt mostly me, and it was the Bermuda shorts. Because if we're going on a hike, this is how a normal person would go on a hike.

The former first lady did face backlash for the attire, as pundits at the time criticized that a first lady wearing shorts while departing Air Force One was too casual, with outlets running headlines such as, "Who Wears Short Shorts? Michelle Obama," "First lady’s shorts draw some long, hard looks," and "Michelle Obama: The Shorts Heard Round the World."
OK, so two points:
One, the lapdogs of liberal media have, for more than 17 years, fawned (slobbered) over both Obamas, with Michelle gracing the covers of multiple magazines along the way. Yet still, she absurdly maintains this silly "woe is me" attitude, which makes her appear oblivious to the everyday worries and concerns of tens of millions of ordinary Americans.
Two, the liberal media has savaged First Lady Melania Trump for at least 10 years to the point of absurdity.
Yet, Melania remains classy and gracious, while Michelle still whines. End of story.
