Noted Constitutional Authority KJP Says Scotus Took Away Important 'Rights' in Affirmative Action Case

Karine Jean-Pierre claims Supreme Court took away "important constitutional rights" in affirmative action case. (Credit: Fox News)

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is a chip off the old block (the old block being Joe Biden) in one key “talent”: She makes up (lies about) stuff at the drop of a hat. Also, like Biden, she busts out the worn-out “The American people know” line, suggesting “the American people” is a singular groupthink bloc.

Anyway, far be it from me to question KJP’s constitutional prowess, but that’s exactly what I’m going to do. The embattled press secretary knows no more about the U.S. Constitution than Biden does— which is hilarious, in this case, but we’ll get there.

During a Sunday appearance on MSNBC — where else? — with left-wing loon host Ari Melber, no less, KJP accused the Supreme Court of taking away “important constitutional rights” in the court’s 6-3 majority decision to strike down race-based discrimination in college admissions. The ruling effectively rendered affirmative action dead as a proverbial doorknob.

As with all histrionic Democrats across the fruited plain, the SCOTUS decision did not sit well with KJP.

In response to Melber’s question about whether the White House was going to do anything in response to the SCOTUS ruling, Mensa member KJP responded with faux, terribly uninformed fire:

This is really, really important and I know the American people are really tracking this, as they should be. [The] Dobbs decision, that was something that was decided … a year ago. Really took away the freedoms from women.

I think about abortion, I think about reproductive rights. And that was unprecedented. Now you fast-forward to what we saw last week, affirmative action. Again, taking away important constitutional rights that have been in place for a long time.

Not to nitpick, but where in the U.S. Constitution does it say anything about affirmative action— or even hint about it? (It doesn’t.)

But wait— it got funnier. Way funnier. KJP then called Biden a constitutional expert. No, really.

Let’s not forget the president, when he was a senator, he was the chair of the Judiciary Committee, he is an expert on this, he understands how this works. A lot of these unprecedented decisions that this SCOTUS has made, they have been held up in the past by Republicans, by Democrats, right? And so there’s so much changes [sic] that have happened in the past year. It is, you know, unheard of. It is really wrong what we’ve seen.

Riddle me this, KJP:

If your boss is such an expert on the Constitution, why did he issue multiple executive orders containing draconian COVID mandates, including his vaccine mandate, on the American people? Anyone with even a modicum amount of constitutional knowledge knew from the outset that every one of those executive orders would be struck down as unconstitutional— which is exactly what happened.

As for an answer to Melber’s opening question about what steps the administration will now take in an end-around attempt to circumvent the SCOTUS ruling? Yeah, KJP had zero:

Don’t have anything to share on any actions that we’re taking, but certainly, we’re going to be very vocal about it. We’re going to continue, as I mentioned, with the federal judges. We’re going to say, ‘This is wrong.’ It is unprecedented. This is what we’ve seen from this Supreme Court.

Please. Be as “vocal” about the ruling as you want; the U.S. Supreme Court is not only the final arbiter of the law, it also has the final word in the interpretation of the U.S. Constitution.

Incidentally, I’m often amused by lines like “They [the Democrats] think you’re [us] stupid.” Of course, they not only don’t think we’re stupid; they know we’re not. Who they do think is stupid is their low-information base. Hence, they toss out ridiculous crap like KJP, in this case, solely for the consumption of Democrat voters — and they always will.
