Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson's ineptitude to lead was put on full display when he refused to answer the question about how to solve the crime problem in the Windy City; instead, he blamed crime on the lack of federal funds for housing.
During Johnson's appearance on "Morning Joe" with Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, Johnson was asked by one of the hosts if an increase in law enforcement on the city's streets could help curb crime.

Instead of answering yes or no, Mayor Johnson did what leftists do and tried to get more money from the federal government for his pet social programs that will likely do nothing to stop the city from leading the country in homicides for the 13th year in a row.
"Would you also like to get federal funding to help put 5,000 more cops on the street in Chicago, would that help drive down crime?" Scarborough asked.
This morning on MSNBC, Mayor 6.6 was asked five times over whether 5,000 additional CPD would drive down crime in Chicago.

Johnson refused to answer each time.
Johnson then claimed "housing" brings safety to Chicago's streets.

Johnson replied that policing by itself is "not the full strategy," before claiming that when he was younger, more cops on the force didn't stop murders. "It's just not policing alone."
The host tried several more times, asking the mayor to simply give a yes or no answer, but the Chicago mayor kept going back to his talking points.
Scarborough tried a third time to get Johnson to answer the "Would the streets of Chicago be safer if there were more uniformed police officers on the streets of Chicago?"
"I believe the city of Chicago and the cities across America would be safer if we actually had affordable housing," Johnson said.
The host stopped him again and tried a fourth time to get Johnson to answer the question, but when Johnson started again on housing, Scarborough tried a fifth time, saying it would be the last time.
Johnson said that they were "working hard to make sure our police department is fully supported. What I'm saying is policing and affordable housing."
"Is policing and mental and behavioral health care services," he added. "Is policing and youth employment. It's a full package."
The question about increasing law enforcement in Chicago follows the success President Donald Trump has had in Washington, D.C., after he federalized the local law enforcement for 30 days to crack down on crime.
President Trump has hinted that Chicago is next on the plan, calling out the failed leadership for crime in the city, as RedState reported.
"After we do this (D.C.), we'll go to another location and we'll make it safe also," he explained. "We're going to make our country very safe. We're going to make our cities very, very safe."
"Chicago's a mess, you have an incompetent mayor — grossly incompetent — and we'll straighten that one out probably next," Trump said. "That will be our next one after this."
And the White House provided more proof that the Democrat-run city is anything but safe.
In a press release on Monday, stats from the White House back up the claim.
Here are a few that stood out:
For 13 consecutive years, Chicago has had the most murders of any U.S. city.
For seven consecutive years, Chicago has had the highest murder rate among U.S. cities with more than one million people.
Out of Chicago's 147,899 reported crimes since January 1, arrests have been made in just 16.2% of them.
More illegal guns are recovered in Chicago than in New York City and Los Angeles combined.
