In May 2020, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a convicted felon tried to pass a counterfeit twenty-dollar bill. The police were called and placed the felon in handcuffs. They then put him in the backseat of a police car. George Floyd said he couldn’t breathe, so the police removed him from the back of the car and placed him on the ground. Floyd died and the country exploded, beginning with Minneapolis.  

A short distance from Chicago Ave. where Floyd died, Minneapolis businesses went up in flames. Gwen Walz left the windows open in the governor’s mansion -- she wanted to breathe in the smoke to assuage her white guilt, or something.  

Gwen’s husband would also react to the Floyd riots. Six months after the smoke had cleared, Gov. Tim Walz sat down at a desk and signed a commutation order as a member of the Minnesota Parole Board. He commuted the sentence of Myron Burrell. Burrell had been convicted of murdering an 11-year-old girl while she was doing her homework in her home. Gang bangers outside were firing at each other; Tyesha Edwards took a stray bullet to the heart and died. Burrell was identified as the triggerman.  

Although Burrell claimed innocence, he changed his alibi three times and was convicted by a jury. Tim Walz saw an opportunity to placate and bow to BLM. Burrell was the first convicted murderer in 22 years to have his sentence commuted.  

In 2020 Walz said this about the commutation:  

 “[W]e cannot turn a blind eye to the developments in science and law as we look at this case.” 

Anyone listening to that statement would have the impression that “science” had caught up with the case. Maybe DNA. But there was no “science” to catch up with. No gun was found. The murdered 11-year-old was shot in the heart by a bullet from a ditched gun. Burrell was convicted via witness statements placing the 16-year-old gang member firing the gun at the scene.  

ABC’s Linsey Davis, the anchor who on Tuesday shamelessly shilled for Kamala Harris and lied about abortion laws at the presidential debate, ran a segment shilling for Burrell, with another gang banger taking the blame for the murder. 

Burrell, a jailhouse convert to Islam, didn’t end up going to school or becoming a pillar of the business community. After his commutation, Burrell was stopped in August 2023 for gun and drug possession. Then he was stopped again in May of 2024. CBS News reported: 

[O]fficers discovered a pill that tested positive for methamphetamine in his vehicle during a traffic stop. During a subsequent search of Burrell's home, investigators found a suitcase with $60,000 in cash and a business card with Burrell's name on it.  

Oddly I could not find any information on what Burrell’s “business card” said or the title he gave himself.

The May 2024 arrest followed the August 2023 arrest for drug and gun possession. In 2023, Police saw a car being driven erratically and speeding. They stopped the car. Burrell was the driver. Burrell rolled down the window. Marijuana smoke wafted out of the SUV. The police searched Burrell’s SUV and found: 

two plastic bags of suspected marijuana, a bag with 21 capsules containing a crystal-like powder, another bag with 16 suspected ecstasy pills, and a digital scale The suspected marijuana field-tested positive, while one of the 21 capsules field-tested positive for methamphetamine and one of the 16 pills field-tested presumptively positive for ecstasy, and a Glock 17 with an extended magazine

 Burrell resisted arrest and was taken into custody.  

 About a week ago, Burrell was convicted for the 2023 gun and drug possession charges. He is yet to go to trial on the 2024 charges.  

Burrell faces several more years in prison just on the 2023 convictions. Sentencing is scheduled for September 23rd. A hearing on the May 2024 arrest is scheduled for the same day - September 23rd.   

Although Tim Walz has been asked for a statement, unsurprisingly, the Harris-Walz campaign hasn’t offered one.
